Can anyone tell me if there is any real difference?
It looks like you're enjoying your 705, like many other owners, which is great
. As far as the bitstreaming thing, no one really has a definitive answer. In theory, they should be the same, but when the samsung bdp-1400 came out, owners said that the bitstreamed audio sounded better than PCM. As far as I know, its subjective to the listener's ears. And if you're considering the BD-UP5000 vs. the A35, I'd suggest waiting for the BD-UP5000. It looks to be a great Blu/HD Player on paper. Plus with its Silicon optix chip it will make your dvds look great. I don't think the A35 has this. In the end, its your choice. Glad you're enjoying your 705.
