Sharp lc-42d43u

I think all of Sharp's 43U's are pretty much the same besides screen size. The 42U's are the same as well besides minor cosmetic differences. Go to cnet.com and read the reviews of all the 42/43U's you can find.

I just got a LC32D43U and I love it. It has good blacks for it's price range and an awesome 6 ms response time. Colors aren't perfect, but they're good. My set also has no dead pixels and none of the banding issues that some of the higher end Aquos have. The competing Sony's and Samsung's with similiar specs are quite a bit more expensive.

I also just purchased a 43U and I love it so far. I also have a 41U which I can't complain about either. I had a 40U which was riddled with problems. BuyDig has some of the lowest prices I've seen on the 43U, maybe check them out there. But I don't think you can go wrong with the 43U.

Same here. I'll be in line. Almost 1/2 price. Sears has the 46" on BF for only 2xx more.

I was just going to let you know that if your really looking at this set and now someone in the military they will have this set on sale for $799 on black friday... I work with sharp and all Military BX Exchanges are haveing this sale some of the ad's have leaked. They will also have the LC-52D43U on sale marked down from $2499 to $1599 and then a LC-46D64U on sale from $2199 to $1299 as of today it was $1399 but the price actually got changed. These other 2 t.v's are actually not being advertised so if you can get on best of luck! I am actually trying to decided between the 42 43u or the 46 64u..And the original price's are what they normally cost at the BX.

As others have said, all 43u's are nearly identical, besides screen size, obviously.

I have a 32D43U and I'm very happy with it. It has good blacks for the price range and the motion blue (6ms response time; 8 ms is typical) is so minimal I don't even notice it. Plus I haven't seen any bad pixels at all.

It has a couple annoying things, but they aren't deal breakers to me:

1. You can't change aspect ratios at all in HD.
2. The OPC (optical picture control) that automatically changes the backlight depending on ambient light doesn't work very well. It isn't bright enough for most people. (You can turn it off)
3. You can't fine tune the color temperature beyond the presets. The lowest setting makes whites a little too red and the second lowest makes whites a little too blue.

I understand that the Canteen stores that sell electronics, etc are selling the Sharp LC-42D43U for $899.99. No tax is charged at VA Canteens. One day only I believe. Thursday Nov. 15, 2007. You don't have to be a member of the Armed Forces or be A Veteran to shop at Canteen Stores.

That is correct. I work at a VA hospital, and it is on sale today only.
