6th Avenue has the Pioneer BDP-320 for $228.03 listed with free UPS ground. Then in cart use the generic code BONUSBUY for another $13.68 for a final unit price of $214.35. I know this isn't the player for ones looking for streaming features but if V & A quality in disc playback is then it's a great deal IMHO.

It's also interesting to note Pioneer's website has the 320 listed down $100 to$299.00 now. Possible indication of a new model coming next quarter/year?

Just noticed while on Amazon that Beach Audio has the Toshiba BDX2000 for $101.22 plus $11.91 shipping.
I dont know anything about the player, but just wanted to post in case anyone was interested.

It looks like it will be the 270. At least it looks like that in the picture.

I believe HHGregg will have this player for $79.99 this weekend. I've read bad reviews though.

So what is the best player for $150. or less? I need excellent DVD up-scale ability, reliability, and no annoying on-screen letters telling me what zoom level I am at. Is Samsung the best?

Went to ABC Warehouse and picked up a BD390 for $199 and tax (~$211). While their on-line stock is low, the sales guy said they have quite a few at the Lakeside store. Last time I checked Amazon was still $259+ after dropping from $275 a couple of days ago.

Picture looks like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882005047 to me. Anyone with experience on this one? The price is certainly good. I'm not much of a DVD watcher - own less than a handful of DVDs, and don't think any are HD or BD. I plan on replacing a broken progressive scan player and a CD player, so hopefully it will play music CDs ok as that will be my main use. I noticed the specs say 1080i on component out, but there are no component out connectors listed or pictured. I think I have enough HDMI inputs on my Denon 1910 that it shouldn't be an issue.

I see what u mean about the component output. I went to the LG site and it lists only the composite and HDMI as outputs but strangely includes a component cable in the supplied accessories...

The 6th Ave. deal is gone and the player is still backordered any other good deals out there?

With all the promotional prices on Blu ray players now, where are the great prices on the JVC XVBP1? I have read great reviews on this player, and would like to give it a go. Anybody have any insightful information on where this could be for a few bucks.............?????

Amazon seems to have the JVC for $198.42 right now.

But the bright, non-dimable blue LEDs really turn me off to this player. What's the proliferation with blue LEDs on electronics these days? Is China having a Blue LED blowout sale or something? They're too bright and distracting. The one on my Pioneer VSX-94TXH amp's power button is like a laser pointer aimed directly at my eye, I had to cover it with tape to keep from being blinded.

JimmyHDTV, I did read the negative posts about the bright blue lights, but those folks liked the performance of the JVC so much they modified (dampened) the lights by some creative means, and would not give up the player. It just seems that all other makers of Blu ray players are now really starting to discount. The JVC does not fluctuate by any great degree, and it seems that they are becoming harder to find.........???

Amazon has the JVC for 159.97 right now.

What happened to the CHASE CARD $50 off with a purchase of a blu ray player?

However, if you buy it through Amazon, you pay ~$10 shipping. Buy it direct from Tiger-direct and it's free shipping, same $149 price.

I just picked up the LG270 at Amazon for 89.99 by using my discover card for an extra 10 off.

Nope. It's actually their new Profile 2.0 player with phenomenal video performance. (Just about the best out there right now!)

It doesn't have the streaming features that are so in vogue right now. But if it's video quality that you're most concerned with, the JVC is just the ticket.

Note: My statements refer to the JVC XV-BP11, not the XV-BP1.
