Blu-ray Player Special Deals: ALL pricing deals and locating talk goes here - Page 5

Hey guys,

I got a sneak peak at Best Buy's black Friday ad in the email and there's a deal on the Sony BDP-300:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
$100 price drop
PRICE: $399
free Spiderman 3 with player
$100 gift card instantly (11/23 and 11/24 in store, 11/22 online)
5 free discs by mail in rebate
--------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically you get the player for $399 with Spiderman 3 and 5 discs by mail, and then you have a $100 gift card to go spend on movies.

Not a bad deal at all, especially for the average consumer who knows nothing about the audio features this player is missing.

Is it for $399 or $499? I saw the ad and it was $499 which is lame since basically they are just throwing in a $100 gift card on top of the regular price. If it is $399 plus the $100 gift card that is a nice deal.

Well, my BJs only had the Sony 301 for $347.

And I saw that online, BB has the Sony for $399, but no option for Spiderman 3 or the giftcard. I'm hoping it will be $399 in store plus the movie and gift card.

Just got back from BJ's. The $347 price is reduced to $247 at register from now through 11/25.

I just saw this today. I apologize if it's a repost.

Philips Outlet offers the factory-refurbished Philips BD-P9000 Blu-ray Disc / DVD Player, model no. BDP9000/37B, for $299.99 - 10% coupon code. It comes out to $269.99. With free shipping, that's the lowest total price we've ever seen for a standalone Blu-ray Disc player. Iinclude DVD upconversion to 1080p, HDMI output, digital audio out, and more. To find this deal:

Apply coupon code "HOLIDAYOUTLET" during checkout.

Was there a sign or something that I missed? Or did you just take it to the register to see what the final cost would be?

Is the Phillips BDP9000 the same as the Samsung BDP1000? A rebadged unit?

To all those with Wal-mart connections, thank you for your input in this thread.

I am interested in the PS3 + 10 free movies deal, I would like to know from any Wal-mart insiders how this will work on Sat. Should I get there early. The website says minimum 2. It is likely that not very many people will actually get this deal? Will there be some sort of lottery, or will it be first come first served?

Thanks for your help.

Cannot say for sure but my guess is depending on the neigherhood "he who has the biggest gun gets the prize."

Don't know, but here is what Engadget said:

"...There's also some confusion as to whether the box is just a rebranded Samsung BD-P1000, or if it has different parts inside; the consensus so far seems to be that it uses the same reference design but with different video DAC (digital-to-analog converter) components (216MHz vs 192MHz for the Samsung). The Philips model features a Faroudja scaler for upscaling standard-def DVDs up to 1080p (progressive) on HDMI or 1080i (interlaced) on component, HD playback of WMV HD (VC-1) video, HDMI and multi-channel audio outputs, a multiformat card reader, and support for BD-ROM / BD-R / BD-RE / BD9, DVD+/-R,+/-RW, CD-R / RW, MP3, JPEG, and HD JPEG..."

It's essentially an exact clone. Many here have flashed it will the Samsung firmware without issue.

Has anyone tried to price match the Sony store $100 credit on the PS3 40 gb with Best Buy or anyone else?

Anyone think the 40 gb will hit $299 in any stores before xmas? I'm debating on blowing another $200 for the 80 gb and 10 movies.
About the walmart deal, I have a friend whose wife is the manager of the electronics department in my area. She told me that the 80gb ps3 for saturdays deal has a special upc code and they are not being put out until that day.

The Sony Store offer is really a $100 bonus for getting a Sony Credit Card (not specifically a discount on the PS3), so don't expect any other store to do a price match with that discount. As for if we will see a $299 deal on the PS3 for the holidays, it just depends on how much money a given store is willing to lose by selling the PS3 below their actual cost (wholesale cost is around $390).

On the WalMart deal - I had a very bad experience when they cleared the HD-DVD players a couple of weeks back. If they are to practice the same method then I would not want to be at wal-mart and return dissapointed.

Can you elaborate on this? PM me if you want as I'm planning to get one that day.

I just got the email from BB as well, and can confirm the sale price is $399 online Thursday, 22nd, and at store Friday-Sat, 23-24th.

Comes with free Spiderman 3 AND $100 gift card.

Here comes the $250-275 "net" price of the blu-ray player sales. And that does not include the 5 free mail-in.
Anyone can see the add if they go to Best Buys site and select weekly ad. It is there now.

$379 (in store).
Also worthy of note is that the 301 includes an HDMI cable, the 300 does not.

If one were to pick up a TV the same day, I wonder if there current "take $100 off when you add a BD player" would also apply. That would make it $299 +$100 gift card.

One would certainly hope so - there does not seem to be any stipulations... nice catch if it works!

I bought one tonnight + the ten Blue rays. On Saturday I will just go back to get a Credit put back on my card!

I have to be honest with you guys. I have searched every freaking link on here, I have viewed all 3 adds numerous time, cliked the little tab that says electronics, and I am coming up with nothing. I dont see the PS3 + 10 BD discs anywhere. Can someone help me out and give me a little nudge in the right direction. Thanks

IF there really is a PS3 (and 10 free BD disks) sale at Wal Mart on Saturday -- WHEN do they start such a sale considering that they are open 24/7 -- would the sale start at Midnight when the day begins or at a specified time in the morning -- inquiring minds want to know...

i'd need to see some actual proof on the 10 bd deal with the ps3. if this is a hoax, alot of people could be led in the wrong direction while missing out on other deals on the same product elsewhere. i'd be pissed. royally.

I was in Costco this afternoon - saw the same thing - and the 301 is the same unit as the 300. It also comes with Spiderman 3 as long as you buy it at the same time (they will deduct the price of Spiderman at checkout).

They also have the Samsung BD-1400 for $380 including a free HDMI cable & 8 free DVDs (all by mail).

I know it's a Blu-Ray forum , but as an FYI, they also had the Toshiba D3 (A3) for $180 incl an HDMI cable.
