Only the warehouse club version of the 65, the 655, comes with an HDMI cable.

No HDMI with the 85 but you can get good and inexpensive cables from forum sponsors monoprice.com or bluejeans cable. Both have ads at the top of the page.

I've used cables from monoprice and from partsexpress.com. My problem with monoprice was the 1 meter cables were too stiff for my rack. I still use monoprice for the run to my TV, but the parts express cables within my rack.

I've been lurking this thread and ordered me a Panny BD-85 on Friday. Haven't seen a ship email or anything but it better get here soon. I've put off Blu-ray for 5 years now and can't wait a minute more!

Mine has not shipped either and my CC has not been charged. Interestingly my order still shows up on the website but no further info regarding the order. Its only Monday and it says it will ship in 1 to 3 business days. I am not in panic mode just yet but it would be nice to see it ship. I don't think the Panasonic online store has a bad reputation and with that in mind hopefully all orders will be satisfied.

That is the everyday price at Costco for your player.

Actually, Crutchfield had a $50 cost-save on these about three weeks ago, making them cheaper than the $199 price.

The best deal was just on the C6500 on Amazon for $114 delivered.

That was a Slickdeal...

The 6500 is still a pretty good price on tigerdirect.com right now for 140.99 shipped. I wasn't charged any sales tax though so YMMV.

I just spoke with Panasonic and got my tracking number for my BD-85. They said that they were having problems with the website and that is why the order status wasn't accurate.

First place listed on my tracking number is Anaheim California.

I imagine they sold a lot of these players. Since you ordered on Monday you might be in a long Que. I have not found many issues with Panasonic's online store and I searched. For the most part they have pretty good reputation. If you got it at the good price I am sure it will be on its way shortly.

I sent an email to Panny CS yesterday and have been checking my email constantly since then (Android FTW). UPS man just came and much to my surprise, it was NOT her Barnes & Noble stuff! Oh how I wish I had an HDMI on my work computer monitors. Or at least a DVI->HDMI adapter . . .

FWIW I ordered Friday morning. I live in Des Moines, IA and the box says Panasonic North America, Aurora, IL.

for those that missed the previous panny 85 deal, if you have an american express card, you can go to the Amex Wishlist:

near the bottom of the page should be a window that says Panasonic (under shop anytime). If you click on the panasonic window, you'll go to the panasonic web site where you can buy the 85 for $137.50 shipped.

Of course, you have to use your Amex to purchase.

I've been wanting to get this one at a good price and waited until Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Few specials were out there until I came across the Panasonic website special. It's priced at $137.50 which includes a $50 discount. You pay tax + $1.99 for shipping. BUT...when I tired to order it, the price bounced up to $179, which isn't a deal really.

After several phone calls to Panasonic and lots of holding on the phone, they agreed to honor the price through today only....of $137.50. So...if anyone is interested in it, go to Panasonic's front page and phone your order in. The shopping cart function won't give the discount. If you also click on the link on the front page, it takes you to another detailed page where the price is higher. They're in the middle of updating it now, so jump on it if you're looking for this one.

all weekend there was talk on this thread about the 85 for $125, but $137 isn't bad either.
