I'm a bit new here... Is this an appropriate place to talk discuss pricing on blu-ray drives, or only dedicated players? Thanks

BB has a toshiba wireless player (BDX2500) with NF for $109. That's the best deal I've seen on a wireless player in a long time.
B&H has the Sony BDP-S770 for about $210, right now.

I don't see a LG BD650 listed on Amazon.

Panasonic DMP-BD85 on sale for $139 @ Sears stores until 2/24. Funny thing is the 65 is not on sale and marked @ $179. Looks like this is only in-store. I found this at the store in Massapequa, NY, so as usual, YMMV.

Thank you. Just bought a BD85 at Sears last week for $179., went back today and got a $40. price adjustment. They were sold out of the BD85 at the store I went to. (Pearl City, HI)

Is this in an Sears ad, when I look on their web site I do not see the BD85. Thanks
post #13272 of 13491
The Panasonic BD655 was $109 at Costco today. My understanding is that this is the BD65 but with an HDMI cable included. The Sony BX57 with DLNA, 3D and built-in wireless was $139.99. If you buy it with a specific Sony TV model there is a $200 rebate. Stock varies by store so you have to call to check first before driving over. Not super great deals but good deals.

In store only. If you call they should be able to tell if they have any in stock.

Glad you were able to take advantage of the deal. As a general FYI for any other interested parties, I visited the Sears in Smithhaven Mall, Long Island and they had a couple of 85s in stock marked at $149. But, the associate said that they would also honor the $139 price.

They also had the Panny 65 marked @ $99 but the 85 for $139 becomes the much better deal just based on the included wi-fi dongle alone.

Btw, the 2 Sears stores I visited both had just a few pieces of the 85 on the shelves. Don't know if they had more in their stockroom???

Guess the prices on these "older" model players are continuing to drop. It's $99.95 on Amazon right now.

To find the Panasonic DMP-BD85 at your local Sears, go to the product page on the Sears website (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...00100383&aff=Y) and on the right side, click on Check Availability, enter your zip code, and voila!

so, with UE in bankruptcy and store sales up to 30%, anyone finding or suggesting a specific blu-ray before they are all gone?
I realize this is not a really good time of the year (after Christmas and before the new models are fully out), but is there a decent Blu-ray player with built-in WiFi capability going for under $150? I should have bought at Christmas when the Sony and Samsung models with those specs were priced low!

the BD 85 from Panasonic and BD 570(has 3 d built in) from Sony are two of the better blue ray players available. All name brand blue ray players are very good LG and Samsung but I have listed my preferences.

Check Sonystyle.com and Amazon.com for pricing and compare to other retailers such as Best Buy.
If you read back a couple of posts you will see where members have posted good prices on specific units.
When I purchased my Sony around Christmas the prices were between 139 and 159
The new ones are coming out and you may want to wait for the latest and greatest but this will cause the 2010 to decrease in price.

Make an informed decision and enjoy the shopping

The Sony BDP-S470 is going for $90 at Fry's Electronics currently, in-store only.

eBay has the refurbished Panasonic DMP-BD655 Blu-ray Disc Player for $77.77with Free shipping / HDMI cable part of its daily deal

Panasonic EPP also has the DMP-BDT210 for $150.03 as part of the Employee Purchase program (wish i had a coupon to drop that price down)
Buy.com has Panasonic 3D player DMPBT110 with 3D Avatar for $134. Been looking for 3D Avatar, this looks like a decent deal.
Just bought the Panasonic DMP-BDT210 for $150.03 plus tax with free shipping direct from Panasonic with my companies EDP. Also comes with coupon for free Avatar 3D.

Don't really need the 3d as none of my TVs are 3D capable but the price was right.

Again, it is not deal that just anyone can get! Yes, for you and a also some others, it's nice that you work for someone who has a secret handshake agreement with Panasonic and can buy through their EDP program. But the entire general public can not buy direct from Panasonic through that EDP program.

I was in Walmart today, and they have a Magnavox Blu-ray player for $68.

Sorry, but I didn't think to get the model # at the time.
