Fry's in So Cal is selling the Panny BD30 for $369. It seems that this is the new regular price at Fry's and not a sale price.

Did you see a printed ad, or just see it in a store? I'm located in San Diego.

FWIW--my brother bought the S300 (not from that etailer though) but returned it in short time; don't remember exactly why he returned it but needless to say he wasn't completely satisfied w/ its performance. That in itself doesn't necessarily indicate anything as to whether the S300 is a worthy buy, but in all fairness to my bro, he's not some J6P--he has some fairly high-end equipment, and is looking for a good standalone BD player to use in his HT room in place of the PS3 (I told him that if he can't wait for the BD50 to be released in stores, then he should just go ahead and buy a BD30).

Yes I see the good price on the website. To bad they only have stores in about 3 states and I am not in one of them

Anyone know what best buy is doing next week on the blue ray side? If they are still doing the 5 free movies or not?
Today I exchanged my 5 week old Panny BD30 that locked up last night and decided to get the PS3 40GB at BB(fell under their holiday return policy).I also applied for the Sony Card today online to see if I get approved and if so I will just get it from there with the $100 off that the give you on purchases of $299 and up and return the PS3 back to BB for a full refund within 30 days.I am not expecting any price matching since they all are pretty much selling for $399.99 out there.

I could have also bought a new the Panny BD10A for $398.88 on sale which ends today at a local store BrandsmartUSA but decided on the PS3 instead.

When does the Best Buy extra 5 dvd deal end? I am returning my HDDVD and getting a Bluray machine (Samsung since I have a Sammy LCD and one less remote). I called Best Buy today and they will price match to local stores and still give you 5 Bluray discs.

Is there a link for BB on the 5 additional free movies? I am thinking PS3 right now.

hdtheater here is a link to BB's 5 free Blu-ray Disc's offer with MIR:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=8588584&h=387

And here is more information from bluraysavings.com:

http://bluraysavings.com/

I hope that helps.

It is in their circular which you can look at on their website. And the PS3 is not eligible. It is considered a gaming console not a blu-ray player.

Hmm. Maybe I can try a price match at BestBuy and still get the 5 movies.

I tried doing this at two different locations this evening and was unable to. You can either take the $369 price match with no additional movies or the standard $499 with 5 instant.

The deals are fairly equivalent.

I'm hoping the ps3 comes out with a great deal with all the companies changing from hd-dvd recently, to further push their product

Doesn't look like they have hardly anything going on. A few "$5 off" BDs like POTC for $25.

5 free will be gone.

5 Free Blu Rays! Oh wait, thats just the MIR. Its in the ad but nothing special. Toys R Us is giving away a remote with it. Whoo Hoo. Just got a 12% off in the mail. Will try my magic with that. Otherwise I will probably pull the trigger at Buy.com

I was hoping something would be going on. I have been watching everything really closely and it looks like my worst fears are being realized. No deals anywhere for anything. Bogos are all ending. No specials anymore. Glad I have bought 22 disks at Bogo or less in the past week...

Maybe we could try buying from BB full price with the free movies, then come back later for the price match...There is a slim chance it could work...probably depends on the manager.

Edit: Probably still wont' work. I read this at the BB website:
How do you handle a price match if the Best Buy price includes a promotional offer such as a free gift card or rebate?
The Best Buy net purchase price is calculated by deducting the value of all instant and mail-in discounts such as rebates, free offers and promotional gift cards.

I see Costco now has a large stack of Panny 30s for $450. No more HDDVDs in sight.

I think I've decided to try and give the PS3 the shot at being my BD player. I saw some earlier posts that stated a free controller was available for the PS3 through the Sony Style website but I was not able to find that offer. Has anyone else been able to get this recently?
I think it comes with one
My BB has the Panny BD30 for $499 with the 5 instant free movies.

I hear that Fry's has the player for $369, but no free movies.

The nearest Fry's to me is in Dallas, 2 1/2 hours away, so do you think my Best Buy will match their price?

Does anyone know if CC will match the 5 free in store Blue-Ray movies. I only ask since I have a 10% off at CC, but would love to get the extra 5 free.

From what I've seen results have varied. Some have had success, others have been told they'll only match price.

TRU has the PS3 advertised as coming with a free Blu Ray remote now.
