When you get the card, just go back and have WM switch the charge to the new card.

Haha sorry multitasking at work....second question was supposed to be is there an expiration date on the $100 credit. If I miss this deal I would hate to have the credit expire while I waited for another, and what I am really interested in is the 80G MGS bundle. The swap CC at WM is interesting...is that something that can be done w/out hassle?

any news if the Gc from WM also applies with bd30 and other players?

Are you joking? I can't tell anymore. If not, this question was answered in post 3502 on this page.

LOL thanks I know I read it somewhere, But do you mean the week starts today? Got mine 1500 with BB 2 weeks ago just trying to find out if I can go now to BB and ask for PM other wise I will return the unit to them and get it with WM. But prefer not to disconnect the unit.

Just checking again to see if anyone's seen the 1500's reappear at WM this week. The ones by me have been out for a while and I'd love to get my hands on one.

Thanks.

Make sure you can find it at WM first...that one seems to be rare to come by.

Actually, there was an internal memo from Best Buy coporate that they will MATCH walmart ps3 with gift card.

Looks like the actual pic is gone but here is a text version taken from slickdeals..net

- Response to Wal-mart’s $100 Blu-ray Gift Card with Purchase of PS3 System
In their June 1 circular, Wal-mart is offering a $100 Blu-ray gift card with the purchase of a Playstation 3 40GB hardware system. In an effort to serve customers, Best Buy has activated a value package that can be hand- keyed into the register to generate a $100 instant gift card. This value package should only be used on a case-by- case basis at the customer’s request.

Like any other product in our price matching policy, the product must be available for us to match this offer. If a customer requests us to match this offer, simply hand-key the valued customer SKU 6867688 with the scanned PS3 hardware system. The value packaging system will automatically run and generate a request for a $100 Best Buy gift card.

Note: This offer is only valid from June 1 - June 7 or until Wal-mart stock level has been depleted. Our Competitive Team will conduct national shops at select Wal-mart locations. Once their stock levels have been depleted, Best Buy will terminate the value package early and will no longer match the offer. Communication will be posted via Employee News If that occurs. Whenever possible, do not apply the offer to previous purchases. There may be customers who have previously purchased a PS3 system and are within the normal return/exchange period for the product who want the matched offer. This should be handled on a case-by-case basis only. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer. Customers who have purchased, or want to purchase, a PS3 system as part of the HO Advantage offer cannot receive this $100 gift card offer. Customers have their choice of any other offer or this $100 gift card offer - not both.

I have read so much on here, I am confused...

1) If I get the Sony card and go to WM (or BB) and buy the ps3 for $399, I will get a $100 card from WM and a $100 card from Sony?

2) If the mechanics of getting a Sony card take too long for the sale, can I use the card number online at WM and get the same deal as in #1 above...

in either case essentially getting a ps3 for $199??

and
3) I asked this before, do you guys think this is the offer to end all offers, or is this just the start of even better sale pricing to clear out the 40GB for future models?

NewTricks, you are correct on all counts except that Sony gives you a $100 "credit" on you cc statement, not a $100 "card".

I keep reading this, but the fine print in Sonystyle says you only get the 100 from purchases made at Sonystyle (so not for WM or BB purchases).

Am I missing something?

Nm, I found the alternate ad. It's weird that they have 2 ads, one that says it's only valid at Sonystyle and one valid in other places. Anyway, good deal, just applied for a card.
Can you post a link to the add that says valid at other places? I've only seen the one that says valid at SonyStyle.

www.sony.com/sonycard/ps3 has the deal where you can buy it through other retailers.

I believe there's even a third ad that's floating around that doesn't even require you to buy a ps3 -- people in the slickdeals thread were reporting getting credited for gas station giftcards.

Hopefully I'll get the card before the walmart/BB deal runs out. Don't really need a second Ps3, but at 200 dollars it seems too good to pass up.

Click on the offer below. Then click the triagle be footnote 1 and a window will come up that says any single receipt purchase of $299 or more will qualify for the $100 credit

Is the WalMart deal still the best price out there currently?

Do you need to wait until the card physically shows up at your house?

Yes. It's the best deal I've seen.

Does anyone have a UPC for the Samsung1500 purchased from Walmart?

Thanks in advance!

I applied for the sony card yesterday and just spoke with someone at chase bank who said it was pending approval and should take about 2 to 3 weeks. WM will probably discontinue the GC promotion by then.

Exactly why I held off on applying. Applying for credit cards can mess with your credit... if I can't take advantage of the double-deal, I'd rather not apply.

Be careful with this Sony/Chase card promo. Most folks have not had issues, but I'm STILL waiting for my $100 credit on the PS3 I purchased from SonyStyle.com on January 4th! They first denied my original purchase at CC, even though I signed-up for the deal where you can make any >$299 purchase and get the promo. No dice, even after sending screen shots of the T&C. They sent me a letter stating it had to be made at SS.com. Fine. I purchased a new PS3 from SS.com and returned it to CC when it came. The 0% interest has been going fine, but no $100 credit. I've called monthly since March, and every time they confirm the promo applies and assure me I'll see a credit in 14-21 days...HA! My last call was yesterday, and I was told that they needed to send my information to the Marketing Dept. for some reason so they could sign-off on it.

They've got till the end of the month, and then I'll start threatening them with reports to the BBB and State Attorney General's office. This is really rediculous.

What proof (if any) did anyone take into Best Buy to get them to match the Wal-Mart deal, or did you just say something about it and they did it?

Well crap, I spent a long time looking for this add before and couldn't find it. So many people were talking about the sonystyle store one saying that you could purchase it anywhere, that I got confused and signed up for that one. Now I'm awaiting approval on the card that you can only buy it through the sonystyle store. I just signed up on my wife's name for this one, I hope they don't deny it.

Is there a # I can call to have them change the offer I want before they approve it? And maybe I can encourage them to rush deliver it for next week...

Thanks

Since Amazon apparently isn't going to match this (and heck, after the RZ credit, the sales tax isn't TOO bad and may be worth not having this getting thrown around in mail anyhow!).....I went into my BB this evening and straight to Customer Service. I just asked if they were matching the Wal-Mart PS3 deal (did not bring anything with me) and he said he would check with his manager. About 1 minute later, he said it was good and rang me up and out in less than 5 minutes.

Good deal - I am interested to hook it up.
Last year, a BB manager told me that the store managers have the leverage to decide on whether or not to do price matches with Amazon, etc.

Personally, I think he was blowing smoke at me. But he may be right.

If one BB won't do the price match, you may find another willing to do it.

Did they give you a $100 gift card or a $100 discount?
$100 Gift Card. I didn't really campaign or press for the credit though, as I would spend this at BB over the next few months just with normal deals they have one way or another.

Gotcha. Thanks. And enjoy!
