Good one!!! However, I guess it all depends on how much you think your balls are worth, plus there are folks here from TX and FL and they don't have to worry about that. And then again, a bunch of the guys on here are probably married, so they don't have any balls to worry about anyway.

You know, I never bothered with Black Friday... Until last year, I grabbed a great deal on a GPS. Basically, I research the hell out of something before I buy it and can almost always find great deals via the Internet. Would I do it again? Maybe, but unlikely.

Hey! Mine are safely tucked away in a jar on the shelf in the pantry.

I think BF is really only worth it if you're going to buy a large item and save at least $200-300 on it. Although some people seem to just enjoy waiting in lines for hours on end....

Aside from the crazy doorbusters, I think you can find comparable deals to BF on the internet at any time. The big box retailers are so overpriced that I am really shocked people shop there without coupons/discounts.

I just got a circular from Radio Shack in the mail today that lists the Sylvania BD player for $199.99 net of $60 mail-in rebate. The offer is also listed at radioshack.com.

I hoping I can take advantage of the Sony Style CC offer($150 off). Looking to get the 350 for $150! Has anyone taken advantage of this? You guys think I could get a better deal on Black Friday or in the near future? I need a stand alone that will bit stream DTS-HD/MA

Bestbuy.ca has the Insignia NS-BRDVD Blu-ray player for $199.

EDIT: It seems they advertised $249 in the flyer this week but it's $199 online...not sure if they'll process the order or not

BestBuy has some of the most inconsistent pricing and policies. Numerous times I have seen the item cheaper online, but more expensive in the store and vice versa.

I agree that they do have inconsistencies but I have never had a problem bringing in a price match from their own site. They have never turned me down. But you have to make sure it doesn't say online only.

Well, BestBuy lost a $3000+ sale to me over the pricing inconsistencies because they wouldn't price match. It actually worked out better for me as I have found all the items I was looking to purchase much cheaper elsewhere now.

Granted, it varies from store to store and one member here from another store in another state offered to help, but my local employees were useless.

Buy.com has the Panasonic BD30 at$259 shipped. Is this worth it or is the Sony 350 still a better deal under $300.

Worker at Best Buy once told me that they do not match the prices on their website because it is run as a separate entity. Probably BS but who knows.

It's BS. Keep in mind these are the same guys that had the fake website in store so they could dispute the Best Buy web prices that people had seen from home.

In my book if I can buy on the web and choose a store for immediate pickup, they are the same thing.

That's why you point them to the HUGE sign hanging over the customer service desk that spells out their price match policy. I've had them deny that's their policy until I point them to the 6" tall lettering that says otherwise. After that they always shut up and give me the price.

Following quote from BB website. It helps clear up their online match policy. They will match if the item is not designated "web only".

In July I was looking for a FP that was going on close out. Prices and stock varied a lot between the stores. Their price match policy says blahb blah match another BB store in the "local area". That is a vague one that will get you spinning. The best I got from them is local to them means in the same BB District.

They jerked me around when I wanted to buy a product that had the best price and have it transferred to a close by store for pickup. I could never get enough people on both ends to agree to make it happen. I still believe it can be done but the high percentage of iDiots working there make the changes quite low.

What if I find a lower price at another Best Buy store or on BestBuy.com?
If an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com, we'll refund you the price difference from our own sale price, or 110% of the difference from our competitor's sale price, up to 30 days after your purchase (14 days on select categories*, 60 days on HDTVs purchased from 7/27/08 through 10/04/08). Simply bring in your original Best Buy receipt to the customer service counter while that lower price is still in effect. Clearance and Outlet Center items, open-box items or Web-exclusive offers advertised on BestBuy.com are not eligible for price matching.

What is a "Web-exclusive offer?"
It is a product or a price that is only offered to online buyers.

Does Best Buy match prices of Internet retailers?
If you made your purchase in a Best Buy store, and you find an Internet retailer with a local retail store honoring its own online prices, we'll match their price, plus 10% of the difference. Internet-only retailers are exempt from our price matching program, as well as Web-exclusive offers. Eligible items must be the same brand and model, and currently in stock at the competitor's store. For purchases made online at BestBuy.com, please refer to the Online Price Guarantee on BestBuy.com.

Any word on the PS3 price dropping for the holiday season?
This may have been posted somewhere here but I was just at a Target Store and they had the Sony S350 for $299 but if you applied for and used their Target Card you got $30 off for total of $269. I don't think you could just use a Target card if you had one but had to be 1st time user.

If you're going to sign up for a credit card, wouldn't the $150 off promotion with the Sony card make for a much better deal?

I hadn't seen the Sony Deal. I'm planning on getting either the S350 or S500 Blu-ray around the Holidays where is the $150 Sony Card deal?

EDIT: Never mind I found the Sony Card deal that will be the way to go for sure, Thanks

What exactly is a "qualifying purchase" on the Sony card? If I get the card and use it to buy a Panny player will I meet the requirements or does it need to be a Sony machine?
A "qualifying purchase" is your first purchase from a Sony Style store or sonystyle.com of $299 or more.

Thank You. I guess that means a 350 or 550 if I want the credit.

It might have changed since I last purchased but I know that you can purchase "non Sony" merchandise with the Sony Financial Services card if that is the card you are referring to. For example, I bought my Onkyo receiver from Crutchfield using my Sony card. There are not a lot of retailers that do that but there are a few.

Edit: I see that you are trying to buy on a promotion from the SonyStyle website so that might be different.

^^
Yeah, I have the SFS card too and Sony has discontinued the relationship with HSBC (or vice versa) and now has this Sony Visa Card offer through Chase.
Boy sort of hard to beat the sony from sony style for $299 with $150 back, free shipping and 12 month dating.
Thanks for the post.

Just placed an order on-line with in store pick-up. Can always return it later if I see a better deal but first I've seen these below $200 in Canada.

Have to wait and see what BF deals are and when Oppo release theirs which is what I eventually want
