Print out the ad, run to Sears today and grab a BD-35 off the shelf, then show them the ad for a price match, then wait patiently for about 20 minutes while they ponder, huddle, and scratch their heads trying to look for an escape from their own price match policy. They're obligated to match the price since the ad is from their own site, even if it does say "out of stock." To be clear, the staff at Sears were courteous at all times, but very dumbfounded over this great deal.
So far, this is the deal of the century (or at least for this holiday season)!

Just went to sears with a printout of the ad for $149 on line.
Their store register said $249. He went on line to confirm the $149 price and that's what they gave it to me for. What a deal! I wonder if it was a typo on line?
Now i only need some bluray movies

What is a BDP-S306? Nothing comes up on Google except your post.

Did they call the store or just based it on your print out?
Anyhow the caching works for us - cheers!

Certainly can try to price match BB or CC but it's below their cost and the Sears advertising clearly says "online only deal" so I doubt many BB or CC stores will take a hit to match an internet only price.

Google caching != not regular caching

Yeah persistence is key to slapped the system out of it's lethargy

I called Sears this morning to see if they swap out my yet to be delivered Sharp Blu-Ray player with the Panny BD-35. I paid $171 for the Sharp. They said all the stores this morning were issued a memo from Corporate that the sale price of $149 was a typo and they were issuing a retraction on the website. I asked the guy what about the people that already bought it online and he said that possibly their order would be canceled.

Keep us posted if you were lucky enough to get one ordered.

Thanks very much! This really worked...have to fiddle around with the zip codes and be quick to select a "store near you"...persistence is needed, took my 5-10 minutes, but it's worth it. Now off to Sears to pick up this baby!

Haha. They aren't going to cancel hundreds of orders and p*** off all us buying customers. They posted it, they're going to have to honor it. Dems the breaks..

That's a hell of a typo considering the graphic on the front page lists both the $149.99 price AND "Save $150". If the dollar amounts didn't conveniently add up to the full price then I might believe them for a second. As it is, I'd say they might be opening themselves up to some legal action if they cancel everyone's orders.

The cache deal works, just got mine ordered also. Need some tools for xmas presents which I added as my filler.
And the 'Deal of the Day' is still posted on the site. If it was a typo they'd have pulled it down.

Course then again maybe it was suppose to be $50 off for a total of $249.99

I need to get to the store to pick mine up before things change!

I tried the wiki link again from my wife's MAC and it worked!

I removed the screwdriver after I went through checkout and got the BD-35 for $158 in store pickup. The store is in FL though so I too have to call CS and get them to change the store.
First go to Sears.com and add a filler item to you cart that is available for pickup at a local store. The $.99 screw driver is what I used. Select pick up in local store and select the store.

Then:

Click on the Google Cache Link at slick deals.

Select 'Pick up' and enter a zipcode. *DO NOT* Click 'Check Availability'

Click 'Add to Cart'

You're cart in the upper right should say 2 items for $150.98. I just tried it using a Seattle zipcode and it worked. Then you just check out! Double check it selects the right store or you home address and not a store in Florida though. It did that to me the first time and to some people in the SD thread.

I thought I'd missed out last night by staying out to late. Looks like I'll be getting the Blu-Ray player I've been waiting on!

To all placing online orders for this fantastic Panny BD-35 player deal:
Make sure you get an order confirmation # AND print it out. You may need this document if the deal suddenly turns sour.

Already done. It's available for pickup already. I already got the confirmation email. Now to go get it.

Sounds great Timmy.
My concern is mainly for those having shipments made versus in-store pickup.
It actually worked!!!! I printed out the online offer and was the first person in the door when my Sears opened. They had a BD35 on the shelf so I grabbed it and asked for a price match. The salesman went to talk to the manager and was back in about 4 minutes with clearance to sell it to me!!!!!!!! Out the door for $158.99 with the tax.........unbelievable!!!!!!! Playing Wall-e and looking at that wonderful DTS master hd light on my receiver right now !!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo! All set, just got my pickup confirmation. I suppose now I should look up the specs for this thing
post #6019 of 13491
Local B&M Sears had in stock and gave me the Internet price without even a mild argument.

At this price, specs are not included!

I just checked my order status on sears.com and it still says "Arriving in 1-3 business days" although it hasn't shipped yet (no tracking number).

YMMV as my local store would not honor the online price.

it's not really a rebate. You buy the blu-ray player and they send you the movies by mail.

Yep, the amount of hell we would raise it's not a PR nightmare sears wants to be in. It was just a doorbuster that noone saw comming...

Has anyone actually gotten out the door of Sears with this in hand?

I did the cached page thing and it didn't work. Everything looked fine through checkout, including store pickup address. But when I got to my local Sears, the order showed only the filler item. The local CS was not much help so I called Sears.com. The CS rep there said that the BD player showed the Florida address and that she would have to cancel it. She offered to re-place the order for me, but then said it was out of stock and there was nothing she could do.

Please let us know if you actually get your grubby little hands on this using the google cached page.

I went into Sears and they refused to honer this deal. The salesperson stated that they did have the BD35 in stock but that since it wasn't available on sears.com they could not price match. I argued for a few minutes and left. Once I got home I followed the slickdeals instructions and my order went through fine. I picked up my BD35 at merchandise pickup 5 minutes later...... singing all the way home.

it shows out of stock now

What store did your email confirmation list for pick up?

What was the reason given for not honoring their own sale price?
I read their price match terms and conditions thoroughly before I went to the store, and I assure you they cannot escape their own policy. This online ad might be a mistake of some sort, but it's definitely not a typo. Further, they will not price match a competitor if the competitor's item is out of stock; BUT this ad is from their own site, not a competitor's. Ergo...there's no escape!
My original post about my Sears purchase and their price match policy was essentially a quote from the store manager, not just my words.

At this fantastic price, I think you try again today.
Sears told me that they could only price their own web site if the BD35 was listed as in stock on sears.com....... I argued and argued to no avail (since they already told me they had it in stock). It all worked out for me anyway.
