You can have both. They are accepting photocopies of the receipt and instead of the UPC Code (need for 5 free movies) they are asking for the Serial Number Tag off the box of the player.

The coupon resides in the ST-TOS box set. Here is what you have to send in:

Original serial number label from the outside of the player package

Original or photocopy of the UPC code from the DVD set

Photocopy of cash register receipts for player and box set purchased between 11/20 and 2/29.

$7.95 shipping and handling

I called HHgregg, and a CSR told me in store only.
Also, you can still buy on amazon, just from one of their vendors.
I dont understand why the 4-5 week lead time is unacceptable? Couldn't you have just bought it Sunday or Monday for $199, and gotten a refund if it had gone lower?
The question is... Is saving $40-50 worth not having that gift for your dad?
I thought it was worth $30 just not having to wake up tomorrow for the Sears deal.

Thanks! I'd hate to get up early when I can sleep in and buy it over the phone.

Not sure about phone orders Trey, I was able to place my order online this morning. It seems that's no longer possible though, they must have sold out.

$159.98

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just got the A3 for $159.98 at Amazon. Do not click on show me the price. It will bring up the $169 offer at Beach. Instead click on Toshiba HD A3 line. Again do not click on show me the price. Instead look to the right where it says more buying choices and click buy under Amazon (there is no price listed here at all). You will see in your cart the A3 for $159.98. Then go back to the offer for 10 free when you buy it for $199 and you will get the list of DVD's to pick out three. When you pick the three your cart will go up to $223 (more or less depending on the cost of your three DVD's) but will list the discounts and the grand total for the A3 with 3 movies, shipped free will be $159.98. You still get two in the box and five more to pick giving a total of 10 DVD's. Only drawback it's out of stock and shipping after Dec 26. Bummer to have to wait!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
where did you find the a3 for $199 on Amazon for the three dvd picks???

I just did the Amazon A3 deal for $159 with 10 movies (300 and bourne inside, 5 from toshiba, and the 3 picked from the list)- chose Casino, Goodfellas and Hot Fuzz.

It's now shipping after xmas, which is fine for me.
If it goes down, I may even cancel it- as long as I can keep the movies.

So if you buy a player from Amazon, and the price drops within 30 days, they refund the difference? Does this apply for a lower price from another online vendor as well?

I can't believe how many people keep asking this same question! YES, THEY WILL REFUND THE DIFFERENCE WITHIN 30 DAYS!! It does not apply to other vendors. You guys really need to research better.

The refund only applies if Amazon lowers their own prices. They don't price match with other vendors.

Thanks, I figured so but I wanted to be sure. Just ordered the XA2 for 449.99 shipped 2 day (I'm a prime member). Let's hope for another price drop but it seems unlikely as this is easily the cheapest price I could find from any vendor.

Man...gotta love Amazon. Actually I give them ALL my movie buying business and the past 1-2 years most of my electronics too. With all of these lowering prices on HD DVD players, I just calledl and got a total of $84.96 credit refunded.

This morning it was $479.98. They have one left at the same price as yours ($449.98).

A35 also seems to have reduced to $359 (10 HD-DVDs including in-box and mail-in).

Great deals on both!

What's the dif between the A30 and A35?
Anyone else having trouble getting the Amazon deal to show the 3 discs discounted off their order? I get to the final order screen and it only shows my existing gift certificate balance being applied, no other discounts. I've followed previous instructions, but get the same result after several tries.

A-35 can pass the bitstream to a receiver to decode....
Called Amazon and got a credit for the difference on the A-30 I ordered the other day.

These prices are a steal.

Just pulled the trigger on the Amazon 10 DVD deal for 159.00. I could care less that it comes after XMAS. It's coming! Thanks for the leads and instructions guys. Really looking forward to this one.

allright, I answered my own question, I suspect because I am an Amazon Prime member, I could not get this deal. No matter what combination of clicks or links I tried, I never saw the discounts on my order review. When I started fresh with a cookie-free browser, and creating a new account (for my wife), it worked fine, although I didn't have access to the shipping benefits of Prime. Oh well, it will get here when it gets here.

Thanks for the deal heads up, saved me a trip to Sears or HHGregg.

I got in on the amazon 159 deal and it already shipped, should be here next week...woot!
Just got my refund of $39.02, after purchasing for $199 on Monday!

Thanks for the heads up!!

Wal-Mart's secret in-store deals for Saturday have been announced. No HD DVD players mentioned at all. They just missed out on a ton of sales. Amazon, Sears, Best Buy, Circuit City, and everyone else one-upped them on this. I'm shocked that they would allow it to happen.
Just got a $30 refund from amazon as well on the A3...Would never have known to ask without all your help....THANKS.

It feels good to get a great deal on something that will be a staple of my home theatre.

One whole month to go before Christmas. I believe also that Walfart has 2 more "Friday sales" between now and Christmas. Who knows, they may blow everyone away with a $199 BD player or something similar.

I placed an order for the XA2 on Amazon about two hours ago. It was showing as "out of stock" and the delivery date on the order confirmation was showing as "after Dec. 24" ... Checked the order status just now, and it's showing as shipping tomorrow with delivery on 11/27! So, looks like it's back in stock ...

I was hoping they'd add the XA2 to their "10 free DVD" offer, but decided it was too good of a deal ($450) to wait any longer!
When ordering the a3 on amazon, how do I know when the cost of the dvd's are taken off, cuz my total is 240 right now and they're asking for my credit card. How do I know they're gonna cut it off?
You will get a final review page before placing your order.

Check there.
When you see shipping cost and shipping options, just before you click on button to place order. If it is not deducted there then you have to go to Amazon web page A3 for $199 and ten movies. Empty cart completely and then check all boxes on that page: Toshiba HD-A3 and 3 movies of your choice and then click on put in cart. Continue checkout as usual and on the last page where you finally place order cost for 3 movies should be deducted. Don't forget free shipping too.

BTW, I really do not understand people complaining about 4-5 weeks delay for A3. First, that is approximate date, it al depends on Toshiba and their stock. Second, if you plan gifts for people then do it on time, don't wait until the end of November. It is irresponsible and only shows your lack of respect for persons you are supposed to care about. Third, buy something else instead like chainsaw and a hockey mask. Your dad will love it! Fourth, don't ask for prime shipping if item is out of stock. What's the difference if item arrives in 30 or 32 days?.

LMAO!!! Yea, what the hell are you guys thinking waiting until now to buy gifts for loved ones? I personally always expect to wait at least 10 weeks before I receive something that I've paid for, so 4-5 weeks is nothing.
