"Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'Resident Evil: Extinction' to Blu-ray on January 1st, day-and-date with the DVD release. 'Extinction' joins the previously announced 'Resident Evil' and 'Resident Evil Box Set' on the same date. Extras will include a "Beyond Raccoon City" featurette, 11 deleted scenes, audio commentary, "Under the Umbrella" PIP experience, and a sneak-peak of 'Resident Evil: Degeneration'.
Also listed as extras are "Devil May Cry 4 Video Game" and "Resident Evil 5 Video Game", though no clarification was given as to what this might be. Most likely, these will simply be videos of the two games, but we will await further explanation."

"Lionsgate has unveiled complete specs for its January Blu-ray release of 'War,' promising a battalion of exclusive content, including the studio's first-ever Profile 1.1-compliant picture-in-picture video commentary.
As we've previously reported, Lionsgate recently announced a January 1, 2008 Blu-ray arrival for its $30 million-grossing 'War,' day-and-date with standard-def DVD. Though few details beyond the date were known at the time, full specs are now in, with the studio confirming that 'War' will boast an array of Blu-ray-exclusive content, including true PIP.
Although the studio has toyed before with the feature on such past Blu-ray releases as 'The Descent' and 'Crank,' those titles had simply encoded a second full-length version of the film with the picture-in-picture content burned-in. That will change with 'War's "Behind the Scenes FX Bonus" track, which will make full use of the secondary video decoding capabilities of Profile 1.1-compliant Blu-ray hardware as it guides viewers through the intricacies of the film's special effects."

Thats good. I think Fox also did with Sunshine. Haha, i find it funny that Warner was specifically the one waiting for this feature and they haven't announced a profile 1.1 title. Hmmmmm.... Interesting ?!

So if SONY is doing it, maybe we PS3 owners will get a nice Christmas present from our friends at SCEA

I should be receiving my Panasonic DMP-BD30K from Best Buy on Thursday. No worries of disc incompatibilities here!

I'll keep my Sammy P1200 around just to see if there are problems, though with this Sammy, it's hard to say if it's the disc or the player. Getting Java to load properly with Cars and some of the others can be a real pain. I have to keep reinserting the movie multiple times before it will recognize the disc and start loading. Once it does start loading though, I'm good until I power off the player or remove the disc.

I do wonder how the player is going to handle bitstream though with this being a profile 1.1 disc. I really want to be able to send bitstream to my receiver for decoding.

I kinda wonder if T3 was delayed to include 1.1 PiP... and maybe lossless audio (which is way more important to me at least) !!

T3 won't be be a 1.1 title, besides it's only being delayed 2 weeks.
