Onkyo 605 Firmware

I bought a Onkyo 605 receiver when it came out and just recently went to the onkyo website and noticed that there was a firmware available for this model. My unit seems to qualify for this update. Does anybody know what the firmware update consists of?

Thank You. Too bad I won't be able to take advantage of it with my HD-A20.

for those requiring the file, i received a firmware update file along with instructions from a UK avforum member and applied it to my 605. whether the file is the same for the US version could not be verified, but i went ahead and updated with it anyway. i now get the little TrueHD and DD+ lights to come on.
i went to Onkyo and entered my serial number two weeks ago and they still have yet to respond with what to do and where to go from here. they claim they will email you a fed ex label to return, but as stated, have yet to get an answer. so if anyone should need the firmware update and instructions, feel free to pm me.

anyone know what the new firmware version is supposed to be?

When I hold down the display button and press the power button, my version says Main1.00/07518A

Oh man I am not feeling good...

I just tried to do the update with my HD-A2 and never got anything more than "S/PDIF Update..." so after 10 minutes I powered off and back on. When I checked the DSP version it said "????.????." or something close to that. My heart sunk, my throat swelled, and blood rushed to my head! There was no sound from any source. I just got this thing today already I funked it up!

On the A-2 I had it set Digital Out SPDIF to Bitstream and Digital Out HDMI to Auto.

After realizing the version was ???? I powered off and removed power completely. When it came back on it would play analog audio from Game source and I thought it had reset, but it still does not have audio from anything digital. Can anyone please help me? I have tried again with HD-a2 set to PCM and no change. Is there a way to do a factory reset? Thanks in advance.

Why can't I leave well enough alone?

N

Update:
I held down VCR/DVR and pressed Standby until it said "Clear" and shut off. I removed power completely, then restored and powered on. Crossing my fingers, I think everything is fine now, but I still have the old firmware.
