Denon AVR-788 or AVR-1908? Is there a Difference?

I was looking at these two receivers and they seem identical. I need one with 2 hdmi inputs that will accept audio via hdmi as uncompressed pcm from my hd dvd player and ps3. Any differences here?

I hope someone can answer this as I was wondering the same about the AVR-2308c1 and AVR-888. Interesting that the Denon compair function is only available for the top of the line products.

They are the same.

988-2808ci
888-2308ci
788-1908

788 is the big retail store version. Frys and Circuit City for example. Bestbuy has Magnolia which carries 1908, 2308ci....etc.

There might be subtle faceplate differences, and maybe one or two more useless connections. Just get whichever is cheaper.

Looks as if the 1908 has an extra remote but you save $50.00

Wanna buy the extra remote that came with my 1908 for $50.00?
