Is it possible that your display can accept a 24p signal but it cannot display it, and is internally doing its pulldown and de-interlacing to get back to 1080p60? Must be poor handshaking between the two that tells the A35 that 24p is ok.
Just my guess. there are plenty of displays now that can accept signals but cannot display them natively.
Forgot to add that the info status typically show what the input is, not what the display is actually doing
