Is there a place where you can audition the Salks? Perhaps a local owner? If you touch base with Jim Salk he'll reference his owner list and contact them for you (if there are any local) to see if they'll have you over for an audition.
The SongTower's RT's are amazing, and so are the EA speakers you heard. Audition both if you can, but I don't think you'll be displeased at all with either. I know I wouldn't. They both seem faithful to the source and are truly revealing.
This is also what i am thinking. They are probably both pretty amazing speakers. Do you not feel the HT1s would best the songtower RTs?
The EAs were awesome. Have you heard the MMMicroOnes? Because the gentlemen that invited me over to listen to them, was using them as surrounds, and also had the EA MM3s...now THAT was a speaker!

That is also what I am thinking. I currently live in Dayton OH due to the Air Force deciding this is where I should live, but it would still be nice to support a company back home.

The WOW1 or Ellis 1801 wouldn't be close simply judging from the drivers and configuration.
Looks like you're going to have a damn nice bedroom system!
Has anyone introduced you to guy named WarpDrv?
This is what i was thinking, thats why I hadnt even considered them. I was thinking the songtowers might get there, and i had totally spaced on the HT1s potentially being there as well.
And I agree
I'm looking forward to being able to have a real speaker setup rather than just listening to headphones all the time, not that I didn't have good headphones.
I also haven't decided on what amp to pair with which ever speakers I end up with. I'll be using my Anedio D2 as Dac/Pre for the system though.

I would definitely be interested in the Phils, only problem is that they are too big for my space, thats why I have been mainly looking at monitors, or smaller towers like the songtowers.
I even had someone suggest I check out the Totem Forests, saying they are particularly good for metal/rock, which is mainly what I listen to, and i just dont think they would be in the same class as the fritz/salk/EAs that I am looking at.
