these are high end buyers. piss them off and they will not buy your ware again. make this right and toshiba is a hero.
In addition to the complaints of this here there are also quite a few BAD reviews on Amazon that complain about the player shutting down randomly. I posted a review myself with the steps to the workaround, but this has been an issue for a LONG time. I called Toshiba three separate times and all three I was told it was an isolated issue, they had never heard of it, and to please send them my player (at my expense). The XA2 is heavy, and not cheap to ship/insure.
True it doesn't affect all people, but it affects a lot. And be aware that most of the people with the problem don't post here. The workaround also indicates that firmeware will probably be sufficient to fix the affected players. After all, they are not overheating.
As for Robert I am glad to hear he finally responded. I have personally bought from him as have many others, and it was his service (not his price) that drove that decision. I would have been happy with a "Saw your thread and have reported this to Toshiba" response.
At any rate, thanks Robert for finally responding in the Onkyo thread. I know you get bombarded with requests, but you have a lot of pull with Tosbiba and are no doubt partially responsible for the success of these machines!
