Here's my current 2-channel rig consisting of:
NHT 2.5i speakers
Audio Refinement Pre-5 preamp
Rotel RB-1080 200wpc 2-channel amp
Sony DVP S9000es sacd/dvd/cd player
Sonos ZP80 zone player (distributed audio)
Monster HTS3500 surge protector
Cables include:
Transparent Link100 interconnects
Blue Jeans Cables interconnects
DH Labs T-14 shotgunned speaker cables
Generic ethernet cable
The speakers are approximately 4.5 feet apart (1 foot from the back wall) while the seating area is approximately 9 feet in front of the speakers...ideally the seating area should be a little closer (~1.5x the speaker separation distance...according to NHT).
Future Plans:
I plan on p/u a dac for the Sonos and seeing what improvements in sound quality I can achieve. I currently have a Transparent PDL-1 digital coax that im anxious to drop into the system.
