Quick questions ... Help would be appreciated

I am just about to go over to Yodabashi Camera and I could not help but look on their website to check out the the price of the PS3. The 40GB costs $362 and with my point card can get it down to $300. I'm serious tempted but a few questions.

From what I know it can already play all region PS3 games, all region blu-rays disc, and know that it cannot play PS1 and PS2 games. Actually well duh because it has no backward compatibility.

My question is can I still get the free Blu-Ray movies if I purchase it here and also can I play normal DVD movies or will they be locked like the PS1 and PS2 games on the Japanese PS3?

Lastly, I know that I will get logged on to the Japanese region when I log online with games without world wide serves. Is that going to be a continue trend with developers as the make games in the future? I would like to play my friends once I come back to the states.

Thank you for the help. Maybe I will pick up a Dual Shock as well.

1. It will play REGION for NTSC Blu Ray Discs only ( US , EU , JPN ) For US - US!
2. It will play PS1 games
3. It will play all the PS3 game discs unless the developer chooses to lock the game based on the region its from.

Great deal for 300 bucks dude! Go for it!
