Need opinions on this deal!

I tried doing a forum search but it kept timing out on me, so sorry if this has been asked/posted before.

I just noticed in the Best Buy ad today that they're selling a 56" Samsung DLP with an Xbox 360 for $1500. The TV by itself is typically $2000 so it alraedy seems like a great deal. However, I don't want a piece of crap. I don't really know much about DLPs. I've only owned Plasmas.

Can anyone give me some insight as to how the Samsung HLT5676S performs visually and just overall what you guys think of it? I'll probably be going to Best Buy this week just to look at it to see what I think. But this unit will be mostly used for gaming. So these are my main concerns...

1. HD lag. I've experienced it on my plasma before and it's no fun. Would a DLP set eliminate this at all?

2. Picture quality. Sure it's a great deal but I don't want to spend that much still if it's going to yield so-so picture quality.

3. Overall quality. How long will this thing last me? Do DLPs have any major maintenance? What are their downfalls? Or downfalls of this particular model?

Thanks a ton guys. I appreciate any responses.

If that's true then that deal sucks.

But if you factor in the shipping costs (which I should have done) then you are back to ~$1500...so you are basically getting the Xbox free at the normal price for the TV. For a TV I would suggest Samsung HL-T5087S at about the same price and it has no lamp to replace.

Well according to the ad the TV normally goes for $2,000 but that's at Best Buy. So if there ARE better deals online for that model then I'm not really getting that great of a deal.

I think it's a good deal. I purchased this set last month from Best Buy for $1,600(thank goodness for their 60-Day Price Protection). I went back yesterday BB matched the sell price and I received the X-Box 360 (w/two games in the box) for free! The picture look great via HDMI & Component, particulary while viewing DirectTV HD programming, HD-DVD A2 (via Walmart's $98 Secret Sell) & 360 Games. A few folks on this forum had problems with bowing...so far, so good with my set. IMHO, these new technologies will always have some minor growing pains and/or it really is just hit & miss. Enjoy!

BTW, Circuit City On-line has the Mitsubushi 57" MDE WD-Y577 for $1,199 till supplies last.
