Here's my story......
I bought the Samsung LN-T5265 in early May. Yes and to anyone that has followed the saga there has been many FW updates already and here lies my problem. I of course recieved the early manufactured 1004 board and 1016 FW. Now I live In northern Canada and of course in my area there is no tech that will come in and services this HDTV. So after I bought this LCD TV and drove 400 miles home set up my PS3 and HDExpressVu Sat. Within the first hour I was geting drop outs and green flashes so I called Vision Electronics and inquired about this problem basicly it came down to it that I figured I bought a mid line HDMI cable and that next time I was in the city I would pick up a over priced monster cable to fix this. So 6 months later log into AVS to do some digging around and come across the owners thread of the 65 series and low and behold I'm not the only one. So I called Samung after a week they figured it out that there's no tech up here witch I told them. So I'm waiting for approval to mail me the new FW. After reading the owners forum Its safe to say it's been tested on the 1004 board and dosn't work with that board. So all of this waiting for nothing.
So now I called Vision and discussed my issues with them and was told that considering my circumstances they will replace my LCD with a new 1 or I can upgrade to what ever I want. Now I bought this LCD in May and its dropped 1K since then I would be crazy not to upgade. After reading the 71 owners thread there going through FW BS also. I really love the look of the sammy and the PQ but whats a guy do I can't just call in a tech to add new FW or board replacements. So here are my ????
1) Would I be gambling on FW with a new sammy?
2) Whats the best LCD or PLASMA on market with no issues (pricing not issue)
3) 16' x 25' basement viewing area complete lighting control
4) PS3 gaming big part of purchase.
5) My wife loves MOVIES got to please the wife.....
6)80% of all viewing NHL hockey on Bell ExpressVu 9100 1080i sat.
7) Motion blur on hockey is a big issue with me half the reason why I want to upgrade...
Please consider I live 400 miles away from nearest tech. Any help along this line would be greatly app the more info I can walk in with the better. I leave on friday to return LNT-5265.
