I'm glad I haven't been spending the points I got on the last deal a couple months ago. Between this and 2112 the next week, I might be out by year's end.
They said they would talk about more Rush by the year's end. They didn't promise more Rush before then.

Does anyone in this thread still play drums? Because if you do, you need to get every last one of Halcyon Way's songs for a dollar each. They are the bomb.

I know most people here already have all the titles, but for those that don't, Gamestop is having a 1-day sale. Buy 1 Rock Band or Guitar Hero title (any of them), get 2 more for free. I picked up Beatles, Green Day, and RB2 for a grand total of $8.

Nice. Is Stone Cold Crazy easy or are you just that good?

Judge for yourself:

Not the most complicated chart (and it's only 2:19 long), but the rhythm is kind of erratic.

Hehe, no not that great. I don't have enough free time to play as much as I would like. So I forget about 50% of everything I learn.

Some of the other people from the thread are truly amazing on drums and 5 button guitar. Do we have a keyboard wizard on here?
ileff, are you playing with the Mustang or the Squier?

I cancelled my BB Squier pre-order and don't think I can get one at this point. I have the Mustang and haven't used RB since Rocksmith came out, but am thinking of using the Mustang to do some Pro Bass during the vacation if I can pull myself away from MW3. Any thoughts on using the Mustang?
I have the Squier but I play RB3 with the Mustang 90% of the time. Mainly because its light and easy on the fingers.

One fun thing about the Squier is to plug it into an amp and you get somewhat of a Rocksmith experience.

I made it all the way through the Pro-Guitar medium career, but I kind of hit a wall when I tried to switch to hard. Going Pro-Bass for a while has really made the game more fun and now I'm probably ready to give Pro-Guitar hard another try.

Went to download Jimi Hendrix this morning and I saw that they are finally offering Rock Band 3 as a Game on Demand! I happily paid the $20 so that I never have to swap discs to play Rock Band 3 again. I've been up Harmonix's butt to offer this and I didn't think they actually would!

Also, Bush in Rock Band! I love their songs but I am betting that the drums will be boring. Hall & Oates and more Huey Lewis confirmed as well. http://www.rockbandaide.com/14753/ha...coming-to-dlc/
post #12041 of 12390
Oh, I've been wanting a GoD RB forever. That's great. I'll drop the 20 and then take the disc to my mom's and leave it there with my old Xbox.
The Game-on-Demand news is too frickin' cool. I've been trying to free myself from discs of all kinds, mostly waiting to play titles until they're available that way. I broke down and bought Kinect Sports Season 2 on disc at a Black Friday sale price, so I'd been having to swap it in and out with RB3; now I can leave that one in. ¡Dulce!

I thought they might try to sneak out 2112 yesterday since the Euro-style date was 21-12 yesterday...

I'm in for "Billionaire" (maybe--the basic guitar chart looked boring) and possibly "Pressure".

Whoa, somehow I missed this tidbit:

If you purchase the 3-pack, similar to the Abbey Road Beatles DLC, you will also receive one 20-minute marathon medley of all seven parts of the suite, exclusively available in this special pack. And that’s not it! You ALSO will receive the Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades for all three packages, as well as a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade for the medley for free!

Just a shot in the dark here, but has anyone used a Simmons SD7PK edrum kit with their MIDI Pro adaptor? From what I understand, the Simmons kits are a bit limited for this, as they use 'voices' instead of 'midi notes' to id their sounds. Still, I can't get any of the 300 voices on this kit to register as any pad in RB 3. I figured with its MIDI out port, something would register a hit, but no luck at all so far. Any ideas are appreciated.
Did someone say "confirmed: 2112 before the end of the year"?

Ok, I got it to work, somewhat. I was using just the pad buttons on the module, instead of the whole kit. Got some energy and connected it all up, and got some interesting results. Something is amiss though, as right now the whole kit is reversed! I'll have to get back to it later. But at least it works, and it appears that the Simmons 'voice' numbers have no effect on the MIDI output notes. I'll have to figure out the relationship between lefty mode in the game and the MIDI output of this kit. I'm thinking lefty mode should be off since my kit is actually positioned that way, but I didn't think of that until it was too late.

I'm not a huge Rush fan--I don't think that I ever bought a Rush album and I'm not familiar with 2112 (listened to some of it this afternoon on Zune). I have purchased some Rush RB DLC and have enjoyed playing it, so I'm in for the pack, if only to encourage this kind of bargain in the future (pro g/b charts rolled into packs ).

I will be buying the whole pack much to my wife chagrin, as this is just in time for our New Years Eve RB party tomorrow night. I have been playing drums now almost exclusively for the past 6 months, ever since a buddy of mine let me borrow his Ions. I foresee some very hard drumming sessions coming up.
Ya know, I really dislike playing the Squier with the mute up. I just don't get a feel for the string I'm strumming and I get lost with my pick hand. It doesn't quite make sense to me, but I track so much better (not that I'm good) with the strings as they're meant to be.

I guess I need to figure out how adjust those pots so it registers better. I set the intonation on the thing yesterday and that went pretty well, so I'll give it a shot.
Turn on no-fail and just don't worry about the score. Plug into an amp and you have a rocksmith type of experience.

If you enjoy playing for score and trying for 100% then the mustang is probably the way to go.

How much is Rock Band worth these days used? I have RB 2 with the wireless drums(and cymbals) plus wireless guitar and mic. I never play it anymore so want to put it up on craigslist to sell but don't know what price to ask. Was hoping it would be worth around $50.

There are people that are paying over $100 for the wireless drums with cymbals these days, but you have to find them.

I doubt that the pots can be adjusted to eliminate the overstrums which register when the mute is off. You'd need some kind of minimum note duration setting. The game is registering a strum for every strong enough vibration of the string. I suppose if you desensitized the strings and alway strummed and picked HARD that might work.
