At a bit over 19 minutes it is the longest; but it can be played in parts, the longest of which is around 8 minutes.

So I can make a playlist of the RHCP album and make it longer than Iron Maiden or 2112, but that doesn't make it the longest song in RB. 2112 is the longest song, period.

The vid's not up on Youtube but it's up on the blog. It looks great, so I'm in for the pack.

2112 is not a song. It is a suite, side 1 of the album 2112.

"2112" - 20:38

* I: "Overture" - 4:33 (0:004:33)
* II: "The Temples of Syrinx" - 2:12 (4:336:45)
* III: "Discovery" (music: Lifeson) - 3:29 (6:4510:14)
* IV: "Presentation" (music: Lifeson) - 3:42 (10:1413:56)
* V: "Oracle: The Dream" - 2:00 (13:5615:56)
* VI: "Soliloquy" - 2:21 (15:5618:17)
* VII: "Grand Finale" - 2:14 (18:1720:33)

Also, I said one of the longest, not THE longest.

Who? What, are they well known to modern metal fans or something? Oh well, two weeks in a row with nothing new to buy. No BFD, I suppose.

Only two new RBN songs, fewer than the number newly released to PSN (I'm not sure that it's the first time). Neither of them interest me either.

There are many bands that I know simply because they had past DLC. This group had a great song previously released in the early days.

See, now I can be the one to say "who" because these guys have not had any DLC before. Didn't get a chance to watch the video yet.

That Authoring Group hosts a monthly RBN announcement thread and they usually don't list any of the video previews for some reason. It's in the thread and on their Facebook page.

Is it just that song or are other pieces of the "menu music" coming out? (I do like that song and will buy it when it hits RBN).

That is the only one that they have announced so far. All of the other song announcements were more of the relatively unknown RBN acts.

The sky is falling! Next week is only one track! I suppose they can be forgiven because there will be a week this summer that we get 25+ tracks but, damn! This better not be a glimpse at the future like when we got cut to three songs a week.

Also, the new forum post editor is a piece of crap! Where is the Youtube button. I can't even look at the code of my old post to get the youtube HD code.

DLC Week of 6/12 - Incubus' hit single Drive! Plus an early summer DLC tease!

Hey gang,

California-based rock group Incubus had been making music for nearly ten years before it hit the mainstream with their chart-topping third album, 1999’s Make Yourself. “Drive,” the third single from the record and the track that earned the band Billboard’s Modern Rock Single of the Year award, comes to the Rock Band Music Store on June 12th!

The addition of “Drive” grows the library of Incubus tracks playable in Rock Band, which includes “Adolescents,” “Dig,” and “Wish You Were Here,” all available now on the Rock Band Music Store.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 12th, 2012):

• Incubus – “Drive”

(This track will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 13th)

Price:

$1.99 USD (160 Microsoft Points ™, 200 Wii Points™) per song

** Dates for Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. **

Fans can expect even more great music this summer, as the number of available songs on the Music Store continues to grow, with tracks from Queens of the Stone Age, Daughtry, the B-52s, and more available in the coming months!

EDIT: HMXHenry provided an explanation over Twitter last night and it's what I suspected, whew.

Preemptive level setting that won’t be mentioned in the press release tomorrow: last min drama leaves us w/ 1 RB song to announce tomorrow.

Just wanted to clarify it’s not deliberate or a DLC trend. “Licensing is hard”. We’ll announce a few upcoming bands as a make good. Enjoy!

They [The removed songs] weren’t Incubus songs, so no pack concerns. Still possible they’ll come out later.

Wow! That is shocking! No keys or pro g/b charts either. At least their streak of releasing some DLC every week is unbroken, and I'll be picking that song up. I bought the Incubus pack and enjoyed it but didn't know that I'd heard any Incubus before, but I've heard "Drive".

I'm sure that the song authoring department has been working hard on that 20+ song bolus for Blitz. I am so stoked for that to come out (screw the game biggrin.gif)!

Not familiar with the first two. I like some QofSA but this song isn't my favorite. At least we're back to 3 at a time.

I've never heard of any of these--I'm listening to them now. I do recognize "Fireflies" from an audition for So You Think You Can Dance a few years back:

The songs aren't bad. I may buy one or two of them.

DLC Week of 6/26 - Carrie Underwood 3 Pack!
Hey gang,

The first country artist to win American Idol, Carrie Underwood has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide, earned five Grammys, and has topped the charts with 14 number one singles. On June 26th, one of the biggest names in modern country music returns to Rock Band with “Carrie Underwood Pack 01”!

“Before He Cheats,” the chart-topping single from Underwood’s 2005 album, Some Hearts, opens the pack. The highly successful crossover single garnered Underwood a number of awards, including two Grammy’s for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” and “Country Song of the Year.”

The second song in the pack is “Cowboy Casanova” from her third studio album, 2009’s Play On. The track was another hit for Underwood, certified Platinum and reaching number one on Billboard’s Country Songs charts.

“Good Girl,” the lead single from Underwood’s most recent record, Blown Away, rounds out of the pack. This high-energy track, with its infectious sing-along chorus, swept the charts when it was released earlier this year, rocketing to the top of Billboard’s Country Songs charts. The track also netted Underwood the prestigious “Video of the Year” award at the CMT Music Awards earlier this month.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 26th, 2012):

• Carrie Underwood – “Before He Cheats” O
• Carrie Underwood – “Cowboy Casanova” O
• Carrie Underwood – “Good Girl” X

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 27th)

Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$5.49 USD, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points, 550 Wii Points™) for the “Carrie Underwood Pack 01”
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points™/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade
Could be worse--she's definitely not the twang-i-est country artist in the game. Still, the songs are pretty insipid.

BTW, NoThru22, I meant to mention that you can take solace in some new Amberian Dawn for you in RBN (and a new Rose of Jericho song for me biggrin.gif).
post #12234 of 12390
Yeah, I've had the Amerbian Dawn song since it passed, but I am getting seriously out of shape to play these bass heavy songs. Fun fact, it's the first Amberian Dawn song since the first batch that I haven't had some kind of hand in getting to the store (playtest/reviewing).

What's the source of this rumor? I don't know the Queen, Foo Fighters or A7F songs but I'm happy about the others. Not the biggest fan of "Spoonman" but RB has taught me that I actually really like some Soundgarden songs smile.gif.

EDIT: Just listened to the Queen, Foo Fighters or A7F songs and they're decent; I was actually surprised to find that I like the A7F one.
