So a big thumbs up?

Why is it not possible to change the name of a band? A friend and I created a band and named it something pretty horrible, but only because we wanted to get in and play and I figured I could change it later. But now I can only delete it? WTF?

METALLICA To Debut New Single Via 'Rock Band' Video Game? - Nov. 28, 2007
According to 1UP.com, Paul DeGooyer, MTV's senior vice president of home entertainment, has told the Rocky Mountain News that MTV and Harmonix plan to debut new music exclusively on the Rock Band video game and one of the first could be a doozy. "There are a couple of things we've committed to, one of them with METALLICA for example," DeGooyer said. "They've reserved the right to give us their first single from their new album for the game."

I feel the same way. I hadn't really listened to them in awhile but I've really enjoyed singing Blackened and Ride the Lightning. I strongly suspect this new song won't be up to those standards.

DaverJ, excellent video on the drum mod! Thanks for posting it!

My only concern would be the felt wearing out over time, and having a hard time replacing it cleanly. What do you think?

Oh I know! I'm not expecting them to be Metallica of old but I do hope its something that does catch my interest.

the new metallica album is being produced by rick rubin. they are recording in the same key as their old stuff and they are attempting to link and justice for all to the black album. so who knows either it could bmean HMX's dream of a true interactive music platform could becoming a reality.

Now if we can only get Harmonix to release Vulgar Display of Power, we'd be all set......

Thanks... I wish I could play better as an example.

I'm not sure how permanent the sticky part of the foam rubber is, but I don't think it should be too hard to remove from the solid plastic pad.

Thanks. Cool video. Heard about that one but hadn't actually seen it. Thanks for fixing it.

Do you guys think that they could have rubberized the pads? I swear I played with an electronic drum set back in the day that had rubber pads. I could be wrong, lol. Regardless, rubber pads woulda/shoulda been the answer for Harmonix.
I picked up some mouse pads yesterday and cut them to approx 7" circles. I had two cheapie soft pads (not the paper thin ones, but not super thick) and one with a hard top. Since they would hop off the drums after a few strikes, I duct-taped them down.

Verdict: it works great.

I left the blue pad open, and covered the others. When I would switch from a red-yellow rythm to one with blue, the CLOP-CLOP-CLOP-CLOP was ridiculously louder than the covered pads. I was very happy with the performance.

I think I am going to make a template with 6.5" circles so that the color rings show around the mouse pad, and leave "tabs" that go out to 7" where I am going to tape them down. I'm also going to look for some black duct tape to go with the black mouse pads for a cleaner look.

I was really happy with how much this quieted the drums down. If your kit needs the "duct tape fix" for the red drum, you could still do it, too.

I haven't decided if I like the soft mouse pad better or the hard topped one, but I'm leaning towards the soft.

you can, I think it's in the options menu

I had to change the spelling of my band "Wyld Stallyns" (I hope most know that reference) so that it would show up online, I changed the s at the end to a z.

I think my drums are broken, I just need some confirmation from you guys. Can you play a drum roll on the pads? Especially the red one? I am NOT a drummer, but I cannot do a drum roll at all. I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAWd7...eature=related and my drums seem to be the same way.

So are your guys drums like these or what?

San Dimas High School football rules!

Still, I can't find that option anywhere. I'll have to look again tonight. I remember seeing the option to rename characters, but not bands.

I think all of ours are like this. 8th notes are fine but 16th notes? Forget it >

This video makes me think that I should return my set to EA. I've been having problems registering notes, but I thought it was just my skillz.

Last night was the first night where I thought there was an issue with the set because I KNOW I was hitting notes, but it wasn't registering. Now I'm pretty sure its the set. I think I'm definitely going to send mine back to EA now.

Has anyone that has initiated an RMA heard anything at all? I submitted my request for an RMA on the guitar last Tuesday. I've heard absolutely nothing since. No email, no tracking number, Nada. Going to the site an logging in all I see is under questions, the original trouble shooting question and under status it says "New RMA".

I still need to RMA the Mic and the drums as well. I'm seriously considering trying to re-box the thing up and return it to Fry's for a replacement instead.

My copy FINALLY shipped from Amazon. I preordered in October. It feels like it's crawling here from Fresno though. I think it might have made it to Ohio last I checked. I'm waiting on the east coast.

All I've ever received was the initial RMA # and tracking # when I put in for my replacement guitar on Monday. I checked the tracking number today and 'supposedly' its scheduled for delivery tomorrow, but there still isn't any detailed tracking info., just that the billing info. has been received.

people have just started receiving their replacements. And no one has got DOA equipment yet.

Question for the already informed here;

Will the GH2/3 guitars for 360 work for Rockband?

Thanks in advance.

For the 1 millionth and 1 time (the 1 millionth was on the previous page), YES.
so has anyone read anything of people getting drums replaced that respond to every hit (IE a drum roll)? Just wondering what I should do with mine. They work fine but IF i ever get to hard or better then I may need to play that fast on the snare (red)
I think I'll definitely be testing the drumroll problem to see which kit I wound up with. I took a few days off and just made the jump from easy to medium tonight...and actually find it a bit easier because it feels/sounds more like I'm actually playing song. Looking to do the foam/felt mod this weekend so I can do some serious jamming. : )
