How good are the klipsch synergy 3 series speakers?

How good are they? Are they good enough to do justice to a arcam avr350 or outlaw 990/7700 combo?
I have this very same question. I noticed on best buy's Black friday circular that they have the Synergy III series floor speakers %50 off. I was looking at the reference line from klipsch but this is a rather tempting deal at this price!

Hmmmmmmmmm

Hmmmmmmmmm

Yeah That's the reason I posted it because at that price I can start building my system now

They're very good for what they are. I have some and like them allright. I am going to upgrade but I'm going to into a whole different level now for the money they are fine.

At 50% off they are a great deal. As with most of the Klipsch offerings though, I prefer other lesser expensive brands in the same range.. but this assumes msrp. All bets are off on black Friday

Get the F3s and you'll never regret it.
Half off on those is an amazing deal and nearly what we pay for them (I work at BB). I like other speakers for MSRP, but half price will be tough to beat.

We have 2 pair of the F-3 at my store. Other stores may be similar. So get there early. We also have 2 pair of the F-2 and 1.5 pair of F-1 speakers. We can always order them though.

.........So you guys think they will do justice to a high end prepro like the arcam avr 350 or outlaw 990/7700?

They have a particular sound to them that many find unacceptable -- including myself.

I think the cliche "bright and fatiguing" is an understatement.

I don't like them and it's hard to sell something you don't like. The BB I work at does not carry Magnolia skus, we can only order them in extreme special cases.

SO your saying they wont hold up in a high end theater

I know many people love Klipsch. Sound is very subjective. I tend not to like Klipsch's sound, which is completely my opinion. Me? I like Definitive Technology speakers, while others hate them. It's all preference.

Half price for a speaker like that is a great deal though. They're normally nearly $900/pair. If I liked the brighter sound to the Klipsch, they're awesome. We get them so cheap that many guys in my store have them and love them. I might even get a pair of B-3 bookshelf for the heck of it. They're only $140/pair for me.

As far as being in a high end theater, they really aren't high end speakers.

see where the F-3's are "sold out"
I like my F2's. When I first bought them they did sound kinda harsh but after I adjusted the treble and pumped the bass a little I started liking the detail.
They happen to work really well in a HT environment imho. I dont know if they mellowed or I become used to them but to me they sound good. I am not sure after owning these I would go back to a " laid back" speaker.

Thinking about picking these up at Best Buy tomorrow as well. Seems like a great deal for the price and my stereo system is in dire need of an upgrade.
Im thinking about getting these too, but dang, bestbuy opens at 5am, think this will be something that gets soldout immediately? I really dont want to fight with all the crazy people just to save a couple hundred $

^ I know man I was just there 8 hours before the store opened and there was already a 100 people in line, I'm just going to go in there in the morning and hope for the best.
Where are you guys seeing this? Im on there website and dont see anything like that listed. If that is the case its like a bogo deal. I think I'll pick up RF-82 when I go to get my plasma tomorrow.

Klipsch (and many others) can sound bright if used with a bright receiver like Denon. Match them with good electronics and they are not bright.
Any more opinions? How about for a Yamaha receiver (an HTR-5740)?

Well I went to my local BB at 1:00am this morning (they opened at 5:00am) in anticipation of getting in line for these speakers. BTW, it was freaking cold (upper 20's) and windy, bad combo.

Alas, when the doors opened there were about 100-125 people ahead of me and the speakers were all gone by the time I got to that part of the store. Not terribly surprised though. Picked up the camcorder and Garmin that I also came for with no problems.

So the shopping continues.......

One person's bright and fatiguing is another person's detailed and revealing.

Very true. It's all subjective.
Can't you get around that with some EQing and or room treatments?

All I can say for the guys on the fence is see if you can still find some tommorow. They are amazing speakers especially for the money. I just connected them to my older onkyo 5.1 reciever and they knocked my socks off, very crisp clean powerful sound, they are also very efficient speakers that dont take a lot of power to run, but if you have the power I would say they are more then enough for a full theater. They are very very powerful detailed and involving and I would recommend anybody on the fence to pull the trigger.
