Hi all friends !

Do anyone of you know exactly the detailed steps of setup "music" slide show for viewing photos in PS3 ?!

I have read info from Internet that when playing CD, hit the "PS" button, then go to photo and start the slide show --- but I found this in fact didn't work as whenever I hit the "PS" button, it will ask whether to quite the music playback, and hence I am unable to keep the music while at the same time enable photo slide show.

Hope someone here could give me a hand & Many Thanks in advance !!!

I'm not sure if you run the music/slideshow with a CD. I've never done that. Using the media share app though, it does work with the PS button; bringing you back to the XMB to select a simultaneous function.

Playback Tips

Playing all your music/photos in shuffle mode

This one took me a few tries to figure out since its not too straight forward (this applies to photos too). To get ALL of your music to play back in shuffle or normal (not just a group), you need to first change the view to Group by All. Then go back to the list of songs and hit the Start button. This will playback all songs not just the selected (vs hitting X on the song/group).

While the music is playing, hit the Triangle button to bring up the music options screen. here you can set the shuffle/repeat options and also the visualization on/off. this will apply to slideshows for photos too, be sure to Group by All to be able to play them all instead of just a Group/Single photo.

Watch Slideshow of Photos w/Music in background

I love having a nice slideshow w/some relaxing music playing when i have people over. here's how you can do that on your PS3.

Start your music, then hit the PS button on the remote/controller. This will bring you back to the XMB w/o exiting the player.

Go to Photo and hit Start to start the slideshow.

Also, when in Photo/Music/Video, Square changes Group by options. Triangle will bring up the submenu screen.

As I said, when I press the "PS button", the screen ask whether I want to quite the music playback, if I answer "no", then it stay inside the music playback screen without going to the XMB; if I answer "yes", it simply "quite" (and hence stop playing any music) and go back to the XMB.
i.e. even I follow the instruction as in the above post, I am unable to play music together with the photo slide show

BTW, my PS3 software version is 2.01 (i.e. the newest one)

Now we got you:

If you are using a Audio CD and want to switch back and forth to the XMB

Go to:

Settings

Music Settings

Audio CD Output Frequency

Change it to 48 Khz

Note if you are playing MP3 Only then you can Leave the Audio CD Output Frequency on 44.1/88.2/176. Khz and switch back and forth in the XMB, but to do it for AUDIO CD leave it at 48 Khz in the Audio CD Output Frequency settings

Hi dominica !

I finally able to create the music slide show after setting audio CD output freq to 48Hz !!! (previously is 44.1/48/88.2Hz)

And now could enjoy playing CD music with the photo slide show !!!

BTW, don't know why the audio CD output frequency will have such an effort on handling XMB ?!

Does anyone have some suggestions for good music to accompany a slideshow? I put together a slideshow insdie the PS3's new photo software. The default music was great. Would like to find music similar to that...

I haven't tried out the new photo software so I don't know the kind of music it uses, but I'd look at movie sountracks for some nice orchestral pieces.
