circuitcity.com/ssm/Samsung-52-LCD-HDTV-LN-T5271F/sem/rpsm/oid/188917/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
It has 3 HDMI ports and it supports native full HD 1080p and the most latest features
This is the videocard I have: Visiontek 512MB 2600XT
circuitcity.com/ssm/Visiontek-ATI-Radeon-HD-2600XT-512MB-Graphics-Card-Black-Box-Edition-900183/sem/rpsm/oid/193656/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
It comes with a DVI-HDMI dongle and it carries audio over HDMI too
This is the videocard I WANT TO GET TONIGHT: evga Geforce 8600GT 512MB
circuitcity.com/ssm/eVGA-e-GeForce-512MB-8600GT-Video-Card-512-P2-N757-TR/sem/rpsm/oid/190430/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Operating System: Vista x64
Problem Replicated: on 4 PCs all containg Vista x64, everytime it was replicated.
Problem:
As soon as I connect the 2600XT over HDMI, Vista keeps telling me that "atikmdag has stopped working and has recovered successfully". The screen will go blank and come back again or somethings a hard crash will occur. Temps are normal at around 38 C (it's very cold here).
This occurs if I do anything GPU intensive. Playing an HD movie...the screen flickers constantly and then suddenly the driver error will occur.
If I move the mouse fast, little static dots around the mouse will appear. The PSU is heavily adquate ranging from 450W-550W (on the 4 pcs). Two of the PCs, I did a fresh vista install and still the same issue.
This indicates that ATI programmers are a group of morons who can't write drivers. I searched for this problem and it appears that this problem has been going on since the launch of Vista.
The reason I got this card was for 1080p native FULL HD quality AND it carries the audio signal over HDMI.
The card above (the 8600gt), is it better than this crap driver powered 2600XT card? Will it support the FULL NATIVE 1080p FULL HD? (I want clear crisp output).
Can you find a better card at circuitcity, microcenter, bestbuy for the same price? (or less than $180)
