Help me pick a new receiver for my new setup

I know you guys see this type of thread constantly, well here goes another. I currently have a Yamaha HTR-5790 that I am looking to upgrade. I mainly want HDMI switching on the receiver and 7.1 capabilities. I am about to purchase the Sony 50" kds50a3000 SXRD, already have an XBOX 360 w/ HDMI port, Toshiba HD-A1 but plan on upgrading to the A-30 for 1080p video with the tv, will be getting a PS3 or the new panasonic blu-ray player and an HD-Tivo. To get the best possible performance from this equipment, audio and video wise, which receiver do you guys recommend and why? Any personal stories would greatly be appreciated. My budget is no more than a $900 if that is possible. Thanks

edit: I am willing to use the hd-tivo with component cables to the receiver instead of hdmi so 4 hdmi ports are not necessary

Any of the major player's receivers will do the trick. Onkyo, Integra, Denon, Yamaha and Sony. Many others out there too. If you like Yamaha, stick with them. I believe they have a new receiver out. Unsure of the MSRP. I know Onkyo and Integra have nice receivers for the $800 range. They will give you 7.1 support, HDMI, iPod docking, Satellite radio, Speaker set up microphone, and on and on.

It's a good time to search for receivers!

In you guys opinions which would be the better deal? I have found the Onkyo 705 for under $700 dollars and I can get the Pioneer Elite 92 for a little under $700 or the Denon 3808 for right under $900. I want the best receiver for my money and dont mind spending a little more for what I will be needing. The extra HDMI input on the Denon is definately an attractive aspect of it but I'm not sure if it is even close to being worth spending another $200 dollars. The network capability of the Denon as well as the USB inputs definately stand out but I was thinking I could always use my XBOX 360 to stream music from my computer. Your input is definately appreciated.

Where are you getting a Denon 3808 for less than 900.00?

I was in a store just like that today trying to decide between a yamaha or denon receiver. I can get the denons about 100-200 cheaper (depends on the model) but really like the yamaha's. The sound field just seems to open up ( just my opinion) on the Yamaha compared with the Denon. I'll go listen again next week but really think it's going to be an 1800 or 3800 for me.

At those prices I would go with the Denon or Pioneer. The Onkyos are running very hot right now. Just listen to them and see which one you like best. Those are great prices on either one of those units. I am guessing the Pioneer 94 can be had in that range for you as well.
