The reference pic shows the big picture & the detailed pic shows the actual components.
If there is anyone else having the issue I found the exact location and will post some pics in a little while. While I have done component level replacement in the past.. I haven't done it in a while and don't want to mess anything up... Does anyone know of someone in Houston, TX or surrounding areas (I live in Sugar Land) who would be kind enough to replace 2 resistors and a cap without hurting the wallet to bad? Please let me know.
Hopefully nobody takes offense to posting on this older thread. I came across it myself and it was an old thread that helped me. I recently bought a SAWX-700 Sub (same as everyone else on here) from some guy used for $50.00. I jumped on it! He didn't have a reciever or anything to show me that it worked other than when he plugged it in and and turned it on the green light came on. I trusted him.... I know, buyer beware!
Got home and it did not work. Started looking on Google and came across this thread. Saw Dpsyphered's pics and tore mine apart. Mine looked almost identical to his pics. Got the parts orderd from Sony. It looked like only my 830 was burned up but I replaced them all 3. It is now working and the woofer wound up only costing me like sixy bucks or so. I am very happy now. Thanks a ton to all who have posted up. This thread helped me a greatly and I am hoping it can help someone else!!!!
I've never soledered before on a circuit board. I was very nervous and didn't want to screw it up. I saw this video on youtube and said "I can do that". Went and bought some desoldering braid and was able to do it myself!!!
Here is the youtube video linkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieoM_40nRVs&NR=1
Thanks again for all who posted this up and responded with pics and details. "I'm back to annoying my neighbors again"!!!!
