Just a quick question. I was reading in the manual for the Panasonic 50PZ77U we just bought that if you input sound through an HDMI source (like my 360 or PS3) and then use optical out to go to the receiver, it will just output two channel audio? Does anyone know if this is true. I'm using an older receiver that does not have HDMI, and was hoping to just bring my PS3 and 360 to the TV via HDMI, and then send the sound from the TV to the Receiver via an optical audio cable from the TV optical out to the optical input on the receiver to get my 5.1 surround sound. If the TV only outputs 2 channel sound, I'll have to output directly from the X360 and PS3 to the receiver with an optical cable. Anyone tested this issue yet and have any thoughts. Thanks so much.
