I think the new Oppo 983 will use the ABT processor, not the REON.

You are correct, but I guess I would put the ABT and Silicon Optix processors in the same league. At least I hope so.

Today, my anti-virus scan detected a trojan horse backdoor hupigon in the file AVCHD Beta 2.exe .

I think the mods should pay a close attention to this.

It would be close to impossible for a virus to have worked its way into the .exe.

What software are you using to scan? Can you provide a screenshot?

I just scanned both files with AVG Free and got no warning. In the screenshot you are showing, there are two files listed. Are you sure the virus is not in the shell32 file you are showing?

To date, both disks combined have been downloaded over 7000 times. We have never had a report of a virus, and as I stated before it is very highly unlikely that there actually is one.
I just scanned it with Avast! and it didn't report anything.

Mark,
What do we need to do to get this removed? Can you download and scan it yourself? Others (including myself) are not seeing any virus reported.

Can you please update your virus software to the latest revision and definitions and scan it again?

I did some searching and apparently there are some False positives with older versions of AVG and 7zip. I am using the newest version of AVG and nothing is detected.

This appears to be due to the most recent update of AVG. After I updated using the update manager it is now showing this for that file and the mameUI32.exe download. Anything that I create with 7-zip using the sfx option and ultra compression gets reported as a virus by AVG. At this point, I'm not so sure this isn't an error due to AVG since it seems to be from the most recent update and other virus software isn't showing it. I'm not sure what's on the computer at work, but NOD32 usually is held in rather good regard.

I just forced my AVG to update, and I get same virus detected now too. The update must be very recent because my AVG had not prompted me for it yet (it checks every day).

At any rate, this has to be a false positive.

-absolutely not, the shell32 file wasn't a treat at all, it was the avchd file that was a treat.

-I think it would explain a lot of things. It must be a false positive.

As for my antivirus, it's indeed AVGfree with the latest update.

Mine too ! AVG v7.5.516 269.19.14/1247 latest Dat today 01/28/08

However , AVG performed a "heal" on the file and it didn't show up on a second scan . It resides in the Virus Vault now .

Interesting . Probably just a code sequence in your exe that resembles the Hupigon3.AMVL Trojan .

Scott................

It looks 7zip sfx is triggering it. I wouldnt "heal" it and then use the disc because we dont know how that will affect the patterns.

downloaded the AVCHD version and Norton Antivirus detected virus on the .exe file. So I scanned it again with Kapersky Anti Virus Online, same virus detected.

Now the question is:... how many computers have been infected with this virus

I'm not thrilled another program shows the same, but at this time Goolge shows nothing really useful to report http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hupigon3+amvl I tried another computer with 7-zip with ultra compression and sfx http://www.filesend.net/download.php...b1e18fce572e30 and AVG reports the same thing and McAfee small business reports nothing.
