Paging Elite Kuro owners

What would you recommend I hook mine too as far as hi-def players go.
I'm trying to get my hands on something that would give me the least amount of problems in terms of interaction via HDMI between the panel and the player .
Over the BF weekend I was offered the Elite BDP-95 in a sealed box @ $800 ( drive-off cost ), but decided to pass up due to it being somewhat slow and not meeting 1.1 profile.

I use the PS3, and it's Blu-Ray player is great, plus it does a wonderful job upconverting standard DVD's, and you can use it to play a few games if you like

Not a 150 owner yet...but check out the new Panny BD30. Very good feedback here on the Blu-ray forum.

A3 for HD-DVD. Great value.

Seriously the PS3 is the best choice by far!
-$400
-1080p upconvert standard DVDs
-If you ever need to update the PS3, Sony constantly releases updates through the PlayStation Network. With Blu-ray players, it has to be done through ethernet cables to the back for a quick firmware update. The PS3 even comes with a web browser as well! I don't really see what Blu-Ray player is better than a 1080p machine that you can even go on an online store for other media and even connect your mouse and keyboard(is this true or not?) and other devices through USB.

Right now I'm waiting to see what may be announced @ CES 2008, which is about 5 weeks away, or perhaps I'll go for Samsung's BD-UP5000 dual-format player that is shipping next month too.

I use both a PS3 and an xbox360 with HD-DVD, they are both great sources for a decent price, considering what else you get if you are into that stuff.

I've got the 150, with both a Pio 95 BluRay and Toshiba A35. I bought the 95 and the plasma from John at Axxis Audio and the A35 is available on Amazon at fairly aggressive price. Both are super DVD players and do upconvert real nice. The Pio is a nicer player, better menu's , etc.. I have all my components connected via HDMI 1.3 cables from Monoprice.com. these are very good cables for the price too.

IM me if you want specifics.

Samsung's BD-UP5000 dual-format player shipping next month. The specs are all there: BR and HD-DVD, Reon upscaler, 1080p/24 output, support for all advanced audio formats (although there is some confusion whether some of the formats will be added later via firmware update), etc.

It's pricey (about $800) but for what you've already got invested in an Elite 150, you might as well throw down to get a dual-format player with all the bells and whistles. And the reviews of the Reon upscaler are that it's one of the best, if not the best, in the business.

Not an Elite owner but know one or two 95 is the way I would go.

Same here! Also, I'm streaming video/images/music from my PC to the PS3 on my wifi net.

I also use the PS3 as my bluray player and it works great. In addition I use the PS3 to stream videos, music from my Mac with my HD camcorders AVCHD files.

For now I picked up new, in a sealed box copy of HD-A2C ( Japan-made ). Paid a whopping $169
My panel scales everything to 768P, the reason I'm not too hung up on getting a 1080P player.
Threw 1/2 dozen fairly beat-up rental HD-DVDs @ it which played without a hiccup.
Though on SD playback my flagship Pio machine still spanked it. Several threads ago somebody was asking why I wanted to keep the Pio. Well, that's why
On the BR side Denon, Marantz and Pioneer are all said to have big dogs in the pipeline. I'd certainly be interested in taking those puppies for a spin.

I've got a PS3 to go with my 150fd and monoprice hdmi cables. I am very pleased with the setup and have never had any issues with connectivity. Image is amazing! Audio goes to preamp using toslink cables until I find a good preamp that does HDMI switching(for less than the 150!). I'm considering getting a low end HD-DVD player, but haven't started researching yet.
