Is matching the type of HDMI output cable to your input cables important? I have noticed a few dropouts, which I assume are HDMI handshaking issues, since I have switched over to the Onkyo 605. The video and audio will dropout for a few seconds and then return. Sometimes the picture will get all shaky right before it happens. I have Monster HDMI Ultra-High Speed cables going from my HD DVD and Blu-ray player to the 605's two inputs, and an older Monster HDMI cable (about 18 months old) as the output to my TV. Could the fact that the output HDMI cable is not as current as the input cables be causing these handshaking issues? Any help is appreciated.
