PC to TV with DVI to HDMI cable. Worry about HDCP?

I want to connect my PC to my TV. The TV is 720p capable with component and HDMI inputs. The PC's video card is a Radeon X800 with VGA, DVI and S-video. I was going to use a DVI to HDMI cable but now I'm worried about this HDCP thing. I want to view some 720p MKV files on my TV so is HDCP going to be a problem? Do I need a video card with HDCP? Some info says the X800 is HDCP ready and other info says that it isn't. The card is a few years old and I don't have the box or anything to look it up. Is my plan going to work?

HDCP is used only when the software requests it. That is currently only done by Blu-ray and HD DVD software like PowerDVD Ultra and WinDVD HD. If you're just running MKVs you should not have to worry about HDCP.
