Hi all.
I'm going through a major upgrade right now. new tv, reciver, and i think a blu-ray player. I have no idea about the TV, the blu-ray I think im going PS3, and im slowly narrowing down the reciver. Thats where my questions come in. I went and listend to a denon 3808ci ( I wanted a 4308ci but none for listining) and a pioneer elite vsx-94txh. Granted im sure they had them playing on the best speakers in the house that will make differances in recivers prodfound. Anyway. I didnt like the denon or the pioneer at all. they sounded muted for lack of a better term. I listend to an integra 8.8 next. That brought out the vocals much better but instramental was still "muted" Lastly I listend to a rotel rsx-1067. That sounded really really good however the rotel is aperently hard to setup and dose not have the features or current hdmi inputs. So if I get a integra 9.8 preamp and run a rotel rmb-1075/1095 amp will I get the same quality sound as the rotel rsx-1067? I currently have a sony str-de985. its useless I have more or less never used my speakaers because of it. My speakers arnt the best but they are mirage omni 260's. If using the integra/rotel combo is good idea. Would I need the 200watt/channel rotel rmb-1095 amp? or does the 120watt/channel rmb-1075 have plenty of power? if the lesser one, would that also have the power to run better speakers if I upgraded?
Thanks all.
