LOVING LIFE AND SO EXCITED, but also being tormented by seeing the wrapped box in the apartment and NOT being able to open it!!

Could somebody be so kind as to "list" any current PS3 hot topics, issues, concerns, tips, etc. I have no idea where to start to effieciently research this thing on here. BTW--getting the 80 gig

For example, I now that DTS-MA seems to be a topic of discussion, as well as backwards compatability.

What are some other "starting points" to begin reading up on--again, not needing detail, but rather a simple list of important "FYI", "need/good to know" stuff.

...Does that make any sense??

Don't open it! The PS3 is evil and will consume all your energy and the loved ones around you!

Lets see, hot topic's, oh yeah there's (in no particular order):

DTS-MA (as you've already mentioned)...
DiVX encoding via upcoming system update...
Home launching in "08...
Bluetooth remotes (big topic here)...
Exclusive titles, or lack there of...
In game XMB, HUGH TOPIC....
HDMI issues/usage/upgrading...
WIFI vs Ethernet...
COD4 killing PS3's??....
Dual Shock 3....
Top tier games (COD4, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, UTIII, Uncharted...etc...)
.....etc.....

Just a small list (I'm sure I left out a ton) for your you to begin your journey - best bet would be to simply peruse the seemingly endless pages here on the AVS...happy gaming and welcome to the club, so to speak that is

OOOOO.K. Wow this is a lot. right off the bat, the ones that really catch my eye are:

1. HDMI issues--important b/c this is going to be an integral part of my HT that I'm about to extensively upgrade. SACD is important as well as lossless audio(kinda sucks that this does not do DVD-audio)

2. Networkability. (wifi vs. ethernet) for MP3's and what not. Not sure if I'll use the on board hard drive to store files, or just stream them.

--I'm actually NOT a gamer at all, although I have a feeling that the gamer of my youth may re-awaken! I'm actually more excited about the HD audio and video aspects of this bad boy!

A friend of mine purchased his PS3 purely for the BR function as well....that lasted oh about 3 months, before I knew it his gaming library was up to 5 games (and growing) - if you knew him, well lets just say he's by no means your "typical gamer"....for him that's tremendous.

I think you'll find that the on-line gaming aspect of the PS3 will be very addictive, even if your new to this world of on-line gaming or coming back from an extended hiatus from gaming in general once you get a taste of the impressive visuals, massive arenas, and the ever expanding community...well say bye to the fam for a while.
