Please give me your feedback - SONY vs SAMSUNG

That Sony is not a DLP, it's a 3LCD. Different technology. Having said that, it seems pretty good and I haven't seen anyone say anything bad about it.

The Samsung is decent too. Both have good points and bad points, so you really need to go by your eyes.

The one thing that is certain is that Sony's customer support is a lot better than Samsung's.

V2500=last year's entry level 1080p LCD flat panel sets.

W3000=This year's next-to-top 1080p LCD flat panels--Sony now makes 3 different series of 1080p flat panel tvs. The top model is the XBR4/5, the next down is the W3000, entry level is V3000. The S3000 models are 720p.

A3000=1080p SXRD (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) rear-projection microdisplay tvs. A 3 chip design in which the light is reflected off the surface of the chips allowing the electrodes that operate the pixels to be behind the chips eliminating "screen door effect."

E3000=1080p LCD rear projection microdisplay tvs. A 3 chip design in which the light passes through the chips. Pixel electrodes must be between pixels and thus there is a visible "sreen door" effect when viewed from very close distances.

How much you selling the HLN for . I think that's the model that first grabbed my attention and made me like HDTV at the store

If you check out CNET, they rated the A3000 the Best RPTV of the year, and one of the best High Def displays of the year.


I just got my Sony 60" - KDS-60A3000 delivered this past Saturday. I got a good deal on it $1549 + $239 for a 4 year warranty, which includes a bulb. Bang for the buck, best value for the size, or as you state:
, this is your set. You won't be let down...

Read through the Sony KDS-XXA3000 owners thread if you have the time, almost all posts are happy owners, compared to the threads of other sets that have many problems.

Whoa, where did you get the 60A3000 for 1549?

Stay away from the Samsung HL-TXX76S sets. Major geometry issues. Everyone is affected. Some live with it, but I don't know why you would spend $2k on a POS TV.

Look at the Samsung HL-TXX87S set if you must have a Samsung. They are perfect.

For what it's worth I just got the Sony KDS-60A3000 and it is amazing.

ABT Electronics - they are a huge Chicago area retailer that also does online sales. I think they've been around about 70 years. I took the Fry's ad in when they had it for $1599 a few weeks back, and they beat it by $50.

I don't want to sound like I'm doing a commercial or pimping them, just a big fan of their customer service...
