There is an issue with the service menu that Sim2 is aware of and working at fixing.

Nice light output !

I have to say that is hands down the ugliest thing I have ever seen. No wonder you have to mount it into a closet.

Thank goodness... I may just have to order a 12' wide screen since I'm stuck using the T-1 lens... Whew! So nice not to have to deal with dim projectors anymore... this is really exciting!! I can't wait to experience MTF MAXIMUS!! That Ruby Image was getting so flat and boring... That being said I can't wait to give it to my dad since the Ruby will still be so very nice for him... He should really like it!!

So you two decided against the late night tryst after all? Thank God, and in the future please keep such talk off line.

QQQ. Did you get your free bottle of Eco Spray yet? Have you tried it yet?
what light output can it do at say 8000K and a good contrast on off (say 5000:1) ?
remember guys, dlp is king of ansi contrast, reaching sometimes up to 800:1
and that is very very important for daylight scenes
and with a scope format screen, I don't miss the 20000:1 of some machines

In college a few buddies and I went to the beach on spring break and that was the comment made about one of the girls I was with.

LOL That was good Art.

But the other two girls Art was with, WOW! You see he wanted a threesome but naively thought that was three women and one guy. Instead of two women and one guy. He also has trouble figuring out port sizes. Something about the cosine of the angle of the dangle . . . .

Received my C3X today and while I await official installation assistance I thought I'd start playing with it. I haven't had much luck.

Can someone check my logic? Max throw (T2 lens) is 2.6. The 16x9 portion of my 2.35 screen is 100" (just over 8' wide). Max throw should be 260" right? I have it at that distance and the image is 120" wide.

I'm also getting keystone effect on one side. What would cause this?

It also seems to me I won't be able to use my anamorphic lens as the image out of the C3X lens is too large for my Prismasonic (maybe because the C3X lens is recessed...?)

Ian:

Throw distances where modified (increased) I don't remember the exact numbers but that Is probably why you have a 120" image, I don't know about keystone effect

Ian, you are posting half your problems here and half in an HT380 thread, people will miss stuff and not be able to help fully. Not to mention the trail of irrelevant and uninformed posts that are already starting on the other thread. Wont be long till theyre on this one too muddying the waters.

I wish someone could tell me if the T2 lens could actually do 1.7.... I think Sim says 1.75 so that people with 1.65 don;t try to squeeze into a T2 lens... I am at 1.7 max, but am now afraid to gamble that the T2 could do 1.7...
Trapezoid on the sides indicate the lens is not parallel, left/right to the screen The top and bottom of say a white screen should be the same lengths and ditto for the sides. Move the orientation of theproector to obtain a perfet rectangle.

Are you saying you have the lens at 260" throw? A max width of 120 would be a throw ratio of 2.166.

You are asking for trouble at the end stop.
Well, what were the odds my ideal mounting spot would be 1.7 Odds I could squeeze into a T2 = ?? 95%?

By end stop, do you mean mounting at 1.66 for the T1?

Ian, it could also be that the zoom is too wide. If your image was more in line, say 8' wide instead of 10', you might actually be able to fit it into your prismasonic. 8(

Hopefully when your installer gets there he can solve some of these problems for you. Since you dont have it ceiling mounted yet, at least you can put it on a table and move it up some to enjoy the image while you figure it out.

The recess and case is the issue. Beam width will be too great. ISCOs are wide enough.

By the way, I would be using an ISCO 3 as well, so not sure how that affects this issue... Could always zoom if I have the T1

By end stop i mean the extreme ends of the zoom. AVOID like the plague

ISCO is no problem
You are 20' back from an 8' wide (16:9 measurements) screen and you cant get it into a prismasonic lens?

How far recessed is that PJ lens? More than 3 inches in?
So you are saying that if I am at 1.7, I should try to see if I can get to 1.71 and maybe take a chance on the T2 lens working? Or are you saying I should mount it at 1.5 and use the T1 lens...
