I connected the new Wii to a BRAVIA SONY HD READY LCD TV, I used the SCART connector, which is an old connection, considering that there is HDMI, and on some games it is even written that they are HDMI. I started to wonder, why they write that it supports HDMI, if there is no HDMI and only SCART?
I tried two games, RE4 and Super Mario Galaxy. Both games look strangely low definition, I even tried to compare them with the old N64 games.
I connected and switched on the old N64 with two games, Super Mario and WaweRacer. Both games that had the best graphics backthere.
As a result of my comparison, the only difference between the old N64 and th eWii, is that Wii has a 16:9 widescreen image that fills all the 16:9 Tv screen. The image is 16:9 and fits the screen perfectly. But the definition looks not great. It is strange, but I'm afraid that the only improvement in graphics resolution is the depth of images in backwiew. As you might remember, the old N64 used to have a lot of fog in the background, becouse of the lack of graphic power.
It looks strange, but somehow it looks that the old N64 has better graphics resolution than the Wii. Despite it uses a lot of fog for covering the missing details in background. I don't know how it is possible. I just know that the new graphic plate for wee was made by ATI. And it doesn't look improved in details definition. I'm afraid that ATI did not a good job.
Anyway, if anybody can compare your Wii with older Nintendo consoles, such as N64 or GameCube. WHen you're done post ypur results. I really believ that there is a problem with the Wii graphic definition. There is a need for comparison with other users.
