Hello All,
I got my first projector today (Mitsubishi HC1500) and started it up. However, the system itself has a loud whining noise from the first time I started it up. I don't believe it is the fan but unsure what else would make the noise.
I am running on low lamp setting and whenever I start up the projector, it hums normally and at an acceptable noise volume for a couple seconds (similar to the hum when you turn off the projector and the fans continue for a minute). Then, the loud whining noise comes in (I am able to hear it in the kitchen when the projector is in the living room 20-ft away). The whining noise continues until I turn off the projector which goes back to the quiet fan operation on power-off cool-down.
Can you please share with me your experiences on the noise level of the HC1500 projector? It is suppose to be 26 db in low mode and I was expecting the low operating sound from reviews and this forum. Any guesses on what is making the noise is appreciated as well - unless this is the norm.
Thanks!
