This is very interesting. I wonder if anyone has informed eD that this is not an isolated incident?

What kinds of cards offer more security, debit bank cards or credit cards? Some of my eD purchases were with my debit card and some were with American Express.

I still think it's probably all coincidence...

Credit cards give you more protection.
There are credit cards out there that offer one time usage codes. So each time you make a purchase online it generates a unique credit card number that is only good for that purchase you make. So if that number is stolen it is really of no use to the fraudster.

Obviously it takes more time to make transactions, but using a card like this for online payments, especially to smaller companies that may lack the budget and skills needed to protect data, makes sense.

I want to say Paypal has a similar feature as well if a merchant accepts Paypal.

I think the whole point of Dwolla is to avoid credit cards and their associated fees. Dwolla works by working directly with your bank. So i can't imagine Dwolla would be involved with any credit card transactions.

3-4 occurrences a week or so after an ED purchase seems hardly like a coincidence. Sounds more like the company processing their credit card transactions isn't up to snuff on the security side of things. I truly don't believe an ED employee is using customers' cards. That would be foolish and probably much easier to track.

Hopefully ED figures out if their processing company is to blame, GETS BACK TO CUSTOMERS WHO HAD ISSUES, and rectifies the situation. They can hardly afford another blow to their customer service if they want to remain in business.

I agree and never had a problem with ed and always been satisfieded with their service...but hoping ed knows this immediately to fix the situation if its on there end.

Just for the record, ED already has my $$ and Alex still answers every phone call, spends time talking to me and responds to my emails quicker than most companies I have purchased goods or services from.

I take it folks are aware that similar CC billing anomalies were also reported in an Axiom thread where the company said something to the effect that the problems were allegedly traced to some vendors defective API.

I am pretty sure that Nezff was using "know what's up" as slang terminology. Not literally knowing about a secret plan or anything.
He's probably saying that he feels very confident that eD would not purposefully endanger their customers.

There is really no need to be in this thread honestly, because there is another dedicated thread for owners.

Well, I'm unclear of the context and I too doubt they would endanger their customers. Sometimes we subject to sins of commission and other times to sins of omissions. On other matters, their history has been less than stellar.

Hahahaha...I'm with ya man. I have been trying to post about my positive experience with ED because it seems whenever given the chance, people try to drag them through the dirt. I am starting to see it the way you do though, I'm just gonna post in the owners thread. Those like us, that like the guys at ED and give them our business can have our own coversations and ignore everyone with an issue.

I do own ED stuff and have never spoke bad about them. Alex has always treated me well even if I havent spent thousands of dollors with them. Any issue I have had has been fixed in a polite and fair way. BUT to be honest I just dont like nezff. sorry

yep. this thread has turned into people who dont even own their products coming in here badmouthing and whining about issues that doesnt even pertain to them. I have had nothing but good luck with eD. I understand they do thing not up to par sometimes, but every company does, thats why they have customer service. Duh.

Where is this thread?
Only one I find is in the speaker section. On the other topic. It's like Ford or Chevy both sides think they have the best and won't even consider that some one else out there can or does have something better. I think more people here need to keep an open mind and at least consider that others might have nice stuff too. Even if its not better who are we to say they are less because of it. If it makes that person happy than that is all that matters, you can always spend more but is it really about that?

So is it a common denominator for those "few guys" like you and ED to ignore every customer with AN ISSUE?

It is also filled with people like me who had a bad experience and have the right to be heard. You may not like it, but there are a good number of folks who have not had a good experience and won't be giving eD our business in the future.

Your probably better off just hanging out in the eD forum where they can moderate the posts and just keep the positive ones.

I don't really care honestly if you don't do business with them. My statement was about the people that don't own Ed products.
