I don't know if we're ever going to find out what and why everything that happened did. I am of the opinion though that it's entirely possible for people within a company to have no idea what's going on for a long period of time as it seems it might have been with Matt and Alec. After all, if married women are unaware that for umpteen years their husband has also been married to 3 other women, or if a husband is unaware that his wife was being pounded like a veal patty by her students, etc, secrets can be kept for years by anyone.
When a company closes shop what warranties there were pretty much go out the window if those warranties were offered specifically by that company. It's nice that Bob Carver offers a lifetime warranty on his hand made tube amps but Bob's getting on in years.
There's a lot of gray area here and others that aren't so gray like the people who ordered months ago and never received anything. Just because a company goes out of business, the fact that it's Limited Liability does not necessarily absolve the company or even the registered owners of responsibility. Depending how this shakes up with the Attorney General's office there may be further developments.
It also bears repeating Matt's got a set of cajones for taking the heat. Alex on the other hand, well....I doubt he'd find a friendly reception if he decided to get into the audio business again. What was it they called Captain Queeg? Oh, right. Yellow Stain.
