Is an LT200 worth repairing? I have an A2-300 that I've been quite happy with for the last several years, but about a week ago the amp blew. I took it apart and found one of the ceramic capacitors had blown up much like in this guy's video
. I managed to replace the missing cap and solder over the chunk of trace it blew off when it exploded, but the amp still isn't working it's best. Although I have sound again, it sporadically makes a relay-like clicking noise, sometimes losing sound, sometimes not, while in operation. So I figure whatever is wrong with it is more than just the blown cap.
I'd hate to have the amp professionally repaired only to have some other part of it die in short order... Should I just go with new plate amp that people seem to like
? Surely someone else out there has also dealt with this same problem. If you went with a new amp, what did you get for a replacement and how does it sound compared to the original?
