Hey all...

I have a weird problem that just started a couple of weeks ago.
My TV just turned one year old and now i have started to notice a flicker in the brightness while watching programs.
Sometimes it's great and then it just flickers a bit.
It is hardly noticeable...but once you know what your looking for it is quite obvious.

Could the lamp be going already?
I watch TV alot and am an avid gamer but i didnt think a lamp would last just one year?

The best way to describe it is.....it almost appears like a flickering flourescent light bulb. Subtle but yet noticeable.
Weird stuff...

Any body have any ideas?

It could be the bulb but it might be something else. There's was someone else with this exact same problem not too long ago and was going to have service look at it, but I don't remember if I saw an outcome. You might want to search the A2000 and A2020 thread to find this person and contact them to see what happened. I think searching for "flicker" or "flash" would find it.

replace the bulb

I had this exact same problem on my Samsung set. Assuming the guts are *kinda* the same, I'll wager the issue is not the bulb, but actually the ballast that regulates the voltage to the bulb.

After having my ballast replaced, the flickering went away completely and the bulb itself is still doing fine.

I had the same problem, it ended up being the bulb on mine. Once it was swapped out it and it has cured that problem

here are two threads on it

Wow I was just going to post this exact issue with my 60A2000, it turned a year old the day after Thanksgiving and last weekend while playing NHL 08 on 360 we noticed this flickering issue. It started happening after about 6 hours of playtime. Yesterday it happened again after about the same amount of time. If the TV is watched for any shorter length of time, it doesn't flicker. I highly doubt it is the bulb though, after 1 year??
