Trying to figure how to get sound from my HK 146 through analog that is connected to my 47HL167. HK is currently running optical from HD DVD player.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure I understand your question. You want to get analog audio from your TV when connected to the HK. Is that right?

What signal source do you use? OTA, satellite, cable, digital internet TV ... ? Do you have a set top box or not? There has to be a source of some description with an "audio out" connection that can be connected to one of the harman/kardon audio inputs.

Dish network via coaxial cable (no Dish box)

I didn't even know that was possible. I thought there always had to be a Dish receiver to decode the satellite signal (why would you even have to pay for service if you don't need a decoder box?). If there is no box, you need to find an audio output from the TV itself that you can connect to the h/k. If your TV is the Toshiba 47HL167, then it seems to have a digital (optical) audio output and an analog RCA audio output. Either may work.

I do have a box, it is in another room hooked to another TV as well. One box can feed two TVs. The coaxial is run from to the box to my TV.

Well then, you probably have two options:

- Run an audio cable from the box to the TV.
- Try either of the solutions above and see if they work (I don't see why not).

There should be instructions with your TV on how to turn off the TV speaker, or it may be automatic if it detects an audio output cable connected. Connect the audio cable to the appropriate audio input for satellite on the h/k and select that input when watching TV. It shouldn't be difficult to do.
