How to make an Blu-Ray ISO with imgburn og Nero8

Thread Starter
Hi All..

I have a bunch of blu-ray backups that i can“t play cause of the recent powerdvd update. Which I essentially need cause of the newest features of blu-ray and hd-dvd.
The current build of PWDVD I have is 3516.
Does anyone know how to make an iso out of my ripped blu-rays ?
I have the newest Nero8, but what files to add ?? Is it a blu-ray data disc ?Any special settings ?
How about Imgburn, is it better ?

If anyone would be so kind

Get imgburn...it's free and easy.

Load it up and select "build" under the "mode" menu. Select the input directory where your rip lives, go over the the right side of the window and change the file system to UDF and modify the volume label to your liking. Now, set the output file location/name and you'll be set.

Get Daemon tools for the mounting of the ISO.

Good luck.

Just wanted to say I was/am in the same boat, and have been using imgburn to convert the blu-ray files I have backed up on my hard drive to .iso's and mounting them with Daemon tools and it works great. Nice solution, thanks.

Is there a way to bypass the 4.2G file limitation imposed with imageBurn when trying to build an iso file with file larger than 4.2G?

You need to change the file system on the iso to UDF.

used ImgBurn in UDF 2.50 mode and just get blue screens. My rips only have the BDMV directory. Do I need to add another directory to make them work?

Try adding the CERTIFICATE folder.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but...

Is it possible to remove unwanted extras in the STREAM folder ('making of' featurettes, etc.) and then create the ISO, and have the disc play properly - on not only PDVD, but also standalone players?

Or does removing some of the extras files mess up the navigation info for the disc, thus making the resulting ISO unplayable?

Also, if the main movie stream is TSREMUX'd to only have 1 audio stream, and again, an ISO is made of the folders, will this cause a problem upon playback of the image in either PDVD or on a standalone player?

Finally, are there others out there who are successfully burning their BD images with ImgBurn to 50GB dual-layer BDRE discs? This is what I'd like to do using my LG H20N BD burner.

Sorry if these are dumb questions to those who are old hat at this!

Best,
Patrick

My problem is playing a BR movie , im using PDVD

ver 3319a , the movie launches to menu , but i cant access anything

to make it go ,Nero showtime just launches a blank screen , in any

program i just drag the feature file to , the movie plays fine , except

i need the English track , and neither program plays the english

track in this method , and tho i attempt to choose English in options

it never works . The English audio must be somewhere else on this

movie ?

i made an iso with imgburn of the movie

PDVD showed it was in disc mode in top right

corner when i loaded it , then crashed/shut off

Nero showtime did as it did from HDD , just a blank

screen and nothing else

Maybe this indicates a quirk in this flick not

supported by either software ?

So i Installed PDVD v7.3.3516

It loads movie fine , but is still stuck on menu

screen , i cant activate with mouse or keyboard

Its not frozen , it just wont respond to anything

i try

Any ideas to make this work are appreciated

Cheers

I saw instructions, I believe in the PowerDVD Ultra thread, that said that you need to use ImgBurn in "Read" mode, not "Build". I tried it both ways with 3 different BD/HD titles, and sure enough, that's what made the difference. Try it!

You also don't need to install Daemon tools to create a virtual drive and mount a iso image to it if you have Nero installed already. For those who have Nero installed just startup Nero ImageDrive and create a virtual drive. After it prompts you to reboot (just like Daemon tools does) to create the virtual drive, you would then just run Nero ImageDrive again to mount a image to it. No point in installing an extra program and having it load in the background every time you boot Windows to do one thing that your programs you already have installed can do.
