Samsung LNT5265f or Sony KDS-60A3000?

I'd be interested to hear what anyone has to say about this one also. I am just about ready to get the KDS-60A3000, but then I started looking at the Samsung.

I would suggest you look at both of them in terms of the seating position of the room where they will be viewed. RPTVs have a definite sweet spot, both vertically and horizontally, that spoils the view for anyone off-axis to the screen. LCDs and Plasmas generally don't suffer from this. The best bargains per screen size are the RPTVs, but that comes with some factors that need to be paid attention to.

I don't own the 65 series Samsung but I can give you an opinion as to my choice having owned the first Sony SXRD for several years now (60XBR1). Since that purchase I own a Panasonic 58PX600U plasma and now the Pioneer Kuro. IMO, the SXRD looks poor compared to those. SSE which never really bothered me in my microdisplay days now looks bad to me. The picture looks so much purer and more contrasty on both of my plasmas next to the SXRD (even though the SXRD does have deeper black levels and more shadow detail than the Panasonic plasma). The SXRD is also brighter than both my plasmas but the picture just isn't the same. I can't comment on a lot of the negatives on LCDs but the 65 series is the first LCD I've actually liked and at least from store visits the Kuro is the only plasma I would take over the 65 series. I

IMO, if you can be happy with a 52" TV over a 60" I'd settle for the 65 series in a heartbeat.
