If the HBO channels cost the most out of all the pay premium channels (on Dish, they cost $16 while Cinemax, Starz, and Showtime cost $13) there is absolutely NO way I'd put up with onscreen displays, snipe banners, nor even end credit squashing to promote upcoming movies/series, blocking out the end credit music.
Up here, Movie Central tried to do the bug thing for a while. As soon as I saw them, I sent an email telling them they had until my minimum subscription period ran out to get rid of them or I would be an ex-customer.
They sent me back a long email telling me very few people were complaining about them, even being used as they were on a $20 a month pay TV movie service. I waited to see what happened. The bugs didn't go away. I cancelled my subscription as promised.
It was a good couple years before I tried them again, but when I did the bugs were gone on the pay channels and they only used an occasional one on their free channel. Guess they didn't like losing customers. But, I cancelled again... movies were too far behind the new releases, very few broadcast in 5.1 audio, and those that were had frequent audio dropouts. I reasoned I'd rather go blow my $20 in the five dollar DVD bin at Walmart instead.
