Somewhat off topic, but whenever I hear people complaining about postal increases, I always bring up the comparison of the cost of postage from the Pony Express days and now, postage would cost several dollars today after inflation and it would take a week or more to get your mail - if it arrived at all.
Instead, for less than $.50, we get delivery in as little as a day for most 1st class mail - and most of it comes right to your house. Back in the 1800's, people usually had to go into town to the general store to get their mail.
