Cheers,
This is your sole BD player? My condolences.eek.gif

Interesting weekend. I was able to play Atlas Shrugged, but it was not easy. It gets stuck prior to the menu with Interactive... then Slide Show showing over and over. You can stop then use menu, but it will then just get stuck when the movie starts. To play you have to hit stop then menu and when on the menu select any chapter except for chapter one. I remember having to do this with Casino Jack, so there must be a few Fox released from last year that have this issue.

Mama (a fitting movie for Mothers Day) loaded up and played just fine. Sadly this is another example of a well reviewed recommended move that I didn't really like. I used to like horror, but not so much anymore.

BREAKING NEWS: You can now purchase a new BD Player for $70 or less, and it will play every BD disc currently available! I purchased this player for several hundred $$ when it was first introduced, but it became very clear over the last 1-2 years that Samsung was no longer going to support it. Do yourselves a favor and eliminate your aggravation... buy a new player, and let this dead dog lie.

Just sayin.

Not breaking news most everybody here has 1, or more other brd players but most won't play HD DVD. I have 5 @ least more others.

Cool! Will it also play my 100s of HD-DVDs many of which are still exclusive to the format or that I picked up for a song and a dance and at still lower prices than the now more affordable BDs?

Just sayin ;-) Personally I think it is or should be a crime to charge many 100s of dollars for a player using a format that everyone knows needs constant updates due to stupid architectural decisions and then abandon it and the customers that purchased it.

All you can personally do is stay away from Samdung from here on out. Jumping through hoops to do disc testing, though, seems a bit wasteful at this point, however (other than for the few holdouts who keep this player in their regular rotation), unless you enjoy it. wink.gif And unfortunately, Samdung have just turned out a pretty darn good plasma this year, so avoiding this CEM becomes increasingly difficult.

On the note of the agonizingly slow wait for the remaining HD DVD exclusives from the majors, 46 more to go:

Me too. Yesterday I had to play this on my Yammy. I already reported this to Sammy back in September based on multiple reports here.

Hyde Park... did Not Fade Away. Both loaded and played fine. Only issue I had was with the deleted scenes on Hyde Park. For some reason when I first tried to play them the counter got stuck on 0000. I hit stop then menu then they played and proceeded to the movie then watched them after. I always check out the deleted scenes first before I watch the movie to see how many and how long to plan my viewing time. YMmV. The disc seemed to take some time to load and was a grimy rental from Blockbuster and I really did not clean it that well.
